Post by: WrikaWrek on March 15, 2010, 11:44:20 AM: Goddamn man, this game actually has some pretty unexpected violence in it. I'm loving the f out of this game.

Sure, it looks like standard anime tripe, but finally these japanese can do a mainstream jrpg that isn't some kinder garden shit. The story is very much paced like that of an anime, but the characters are all pretty interesting, even the kid here isn't annoying and the main character is badass shit. He's a no bs, you do whatever the hell you wanna do guy, takes matters into his own hand and is willing to get blood on his hands up and personal, and if you need help to commit sepuku or whatever that's called, guy is there with the sword in your neck.

Fuck yeah. Fuck that blackanese bs they pull with FFXIII, this here is the real shit.

I liked Abyss for the first half of it, but then the game forces you to start backtracking because they didn't make enough new areas for it, so you end up re-visiting places you'd already been to, again and again and again.

i stopped playing after the dungeon where you have to dodge the giant monster or something for no particular reason,i really hated almost every single character in game,like i wanted to punch all of them in the face! the only game worse than tales of abyss was tales of legendia

Vesperia is animu and cheesy, with a bit of darkness mixed in and a good main character that doesn't dress like Britney Spears.

I just picked up Valkyria Chronicles on the cheap, been looking forward to playing it for a while, I'm cool with tedium, I can't remember how many times I've been recommended this game.

ToV's battle system looks like an RPG version of the Naruto games (Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm specifically the only one I've played), I loved that game will probably get pretty into ToV when I get around to it, Resonance of Fate looks pretty interesting too, was going to pick it up but got FFXIII instead.
