Title: Join twitter, make impact within 30 minutes
Post by: Phoenix Dark on April 02, 2010, 05:08:19 PM
@DonCapote @axechucker thanks guys :) Its Dany. I don't have silver hair OR violet eyes but then again I don't think any humans do ;) xox

In short, I've confirmed HBO is indeed recasting the part of Dany for the Game of Thrones series. The actress is pretty damn hot, I hope she gets the part...but doesn't HBO/companies prefer this type of stuff to be kept secret? Hope I didn't ruin her chances

I'm not at all.

Every tweet is either me making fun of elektrikluv, my producer pal Mike or mocking CajoleJuice for being a Mets fan. :lol

Kevin Smith literally responds to all my Twitter posts. All of them.

... Combined with the fact that we've had e-mail correspondence and that he apparently doesn't leave his PC, I actually stopped writing a blog post that would serve as a rebuttal to his recent CopOut tirade because I was afraid he would actually read it - and he's in bed with Warner Bros., which is a major I'm not trying to piss off right now.

Actually, credit my producer for killing that blog post. We're talking to a company with pretty deep ties with Warner Bros. and he didn't want me to do or say anything stupid to jeopardize The Projectionist.

I don't know, I just thought it was hilarious that weeks later, Kevin Smith snapped about critics' opinions on CopOut (which he initially brushed off, I think I even posted that here!) and went on this tirade - claiming that critics should be forced to pay to see films.

I didn't understand the logic in that then and I certainly don't understand it now. Quite honestly, if I see something for free, I'm more likely to give it a pass because I didn't spend my hard earned cash on it. I mean, if Kevin Smith thought CopOut reviews were negative and unfair before, wait until he gets advanced copies of reviews written by critics that actually had to pay to see it.

This just goes to prove, along with the fact that he responds to anything remotely negative that I put on Twitter, that he's pretty sensitive.

I hope they recast her. The original Dany was hideous, and she sucked in The Tudors.

Agreed 100%. It's not even to be shallow. Dany is supposed to have an odd beauty to her; she's constantly described as the most beautiful thing ever by all who gaze on her. Tazmin is simply oddly ugly, I'm sorry. And considering her story happens thousands of miles away from everyone else, whoever plays her is going to have to do some heavy lifting to keep that arc interesting. Having a beautiful actress who can act well will accomplish that.

While I'm glad to see Tazmin go, I'm also concerned because they'll have to reshoot all her scenes. The Morocco shots were the most expensive, and the dude who plays Drogo might be busy filming Conan.

I can see how it breaks new early and how it connects fans and celebrities. Its just not my kind of thing.

Like OK there is Steve Austin, I love Steve Austin, but I don't really give a shit about what he ate. I know how some people love this, but it just ain't my thing.

What is this obsession with people who hate twitter thinking that people only detail their sleep cycle and food intake? It's not true.

Well that's the thing, I mean maybe the people you'd follow would be boring and just say what they've done, but most of my follow feed is observations, opinions and things like that, which can be pretty funny and/or entertaining.

And the following celebrity thing isn't about 'meeting' them or having contact with them, most people don't even attempt to communicate with them (unless you're PD). But if the celebrity is interesting it can be pretty cool to see what they have to say about things on a daily basis.

Its because you're not actually using it, as in you're not communicating with it and have a network of people. I'd hate it too if I only went on twitter to check a few celeb feeds but didn't actually use it.

something I do when I'm bored than something I look forward to or am that much entertained by.

edit: That is also what most of the internet consists of.

Following celebrities can be entertaining.

This week LeVar Burton accidentally tweeted his cel number to his nearly 1 million followers.

For the rest of the week Brent Spiner and Will Wheaton gave him shit over it and it was HILARIOUS.

I don't know any of those names.

How do you communicate with Twitter?  Just post your random current opinions on things so that your friends would hear?  I would go crazy if my phone told me everytime a friend tweeted.

Movie trailers, new songs, news are not exclusive to the internet. Twitter on the other hand is. I don't find Twitter any less 'exciting' than a forum.

Twitter has kind of replaced the relevancy of forums or blogs in today's e-world.
