Title: League of Legends
Post by: GilloD on April 03, 2010, 07:25:13 AM: IS AWESOME. But I was just about to win and my video card went all BLAH BLAH and I had to restart :(

I've never played a DotA-type before, I really fucking like it. HoN has a horrible community. LoL is really fun. Demigod lol.

Demigod is fine, but like $30 or $40 for a DotA clone that only has like 8 characters and 5 maps is kind of goofy.

In LoL last night people were giving each other tips and being like "It's okay! You can do it!". I made a post on reddit about the differences between HoN and LoL and the responses were hilarious: Some people were like "LoL is for shitty players and assholes who CANT HANDLE HoN" and everyone else was like "That's why I don't play HoN!". I like LoL because it's chill and fun and I hate Gaming-Meatheads who are as bad as Football jocks any day of the week.

In short: HoN is for game jocks who thrive on belittling people, LoL is for normal people.

I have a few games under my belt (2-1 :rock) using the free Champion. Are there any other Champions that you unlock by levelling? Also, can you get runes without having to pay?

The non-cash in-game currency is IP. You get it by winning or losing games, but more when you win. The currency you BUY is Riot Points.

They change the free champions every week or two. You'll gain IP by winning games- You can use that to buy any champion. Runes can only be bought with IP, you can't buy them with $ cash (Riot Points). Most heroes are around $3-$5 in Riot Points and range from 1000ip to almost 4000ip.
