Title: Can you downgrade Windows 7 from Ultimate to Pro without doing a clean install?
Post by: AdmiralViscen on April 04, 2010, 08:56:30 PM
Apparently the Win7 on my laptop is not legitimate, and that stupid update caught it.

If I used my old student email to buy this

http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx

Would I be able to convert my netbook to a legitimate version with ease?

What does the update do? is it the one that change your background and put a watermark in front of everything?

I went ahead and unchecked the box for the update weeks ago, or else this would have happened when they rolled it out back in Feb. Somehow it got turned back on and downloaded itself yesterday.
