The trade, pending league approval, some two weeks after Iverson demanded a trade in Philly, would send Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first-round picks to the Sixers for Iverson and perhaps another minimum-salaried player or two. It was expected to be completed later Tuesday barring any snags.

This would mean that the two leading scorers n the NBA would be on the same team. I don't see this working out. I hope Iverson can take a sucker punch and I hope Melo can learn to moonwalk faster since AI is pretty fast.

Andre Miller and Joe Smith? Wow. Maybe they are purposefully trying to win the Greg Oden prize

They made out better than Toronto did with the Carter trade. I think I once traded a Vince Carter card for a bag of chips, so I made out better trading his card than the Raptors did by trading him.

Crap trade.

Crap trade.
Its a bad trade for both teams.

Well, Melo is suspended for 15 games and that's a lot of games, so AI can help score 'till then.

That trade worked on in the end. Toronto now has a franchise player (Bosh) and their #1 pick is very impressive. The Sixers have some young players so maybe they can rebuild faster. But from where I'm standing...this is a terrible trade
If I was the Nuggets I'd keep talking to teams about possibly trading Iverson slightly before the trade deadline; Carmelo will be back long before that, and it should be pretty clear early on that both players can't mesh together. I'm sure the Nuggets could get some great offers for Iverson

That's short sighted. Does the Denver Nugget's GM control US immigration policy as well?

Toronto had Bosh long before the trade. The Italian dude was not part of the trade either.

I'm just trying to find some logic or reason.
Let's stop talking about 'Melo and The Answer, and let's talk about my .500 Washington Wizards that apparently do not have anyone that can defend inside the paint.

Malek: Oh I know, I'm just saying the trade worked in the end. Toronto certainly isn't a good team but they're no longer the slums of the NBA. Good moves on their part

Too bad they're not in the Atlantic division, they'd have clinched first by now. Jamison is a terrible defender. He makes Nowitzki look like Bill Russel. Etan Thomas and Haywood suck, but they can defend a little, can't they?

Carter as been the highpoint of the Raptors. End of story

Perhaps you aren't familiar with my hate of Carter

Our country doesn't pay attention to sports that are not played on ice.
Who the hell is Bob Sapp?

They're still at the top of their respective division, I believe and they're pretty much a lock for the playoffs if they keep up the .500 play. I really enjoy watching the Wizards play, and I've been on the bandwagon for several years, so it's kind of odd to imagine D.C. having a NBA team with expectations.
Arenas has stepped up his game and if they start playing strong, he should get some serious MVP consideration. He puts that team on his back day in and day out. I love him to death.
Thomas and Haywood can defend... when they're healthy. They don't play tough or hard or durable. They're soft and oft-injured. The Wizards got depth on the bench and a good scoring trio in Jamison, Butler and Arenas... but they're a tough big man away from truly challenging for the conference title.
-
Big men don't grow on trees Willco.
-
Yeah, but they don't even try and get a guy like Big Ben when he's on the market. Butler and Arenas are still young enough to make them part of a scoring core, but Jamison has pretty much hit his peak. And personally, I felt they should've kept Jeffries.
-
Ben is overpaid and has no hands. Jared Jeffries isn't very impressive.
-
They're both better than what they got.
-
Let's start talking about a team that will actually win a round...

Washington's D sucks too much. The Suns can get away with being terrible on D, but the Bullets can't.

The Wizards have won a round! They beat the Bulls to advance two seasons ago and lost to the Heat. The only got knocked out in the first round by the Cavs last season.

odd odd trade
