Title: Going to Boston this weekend
Post by: tiesto on April 19, 2010, 12:21:05 PM
Yeah, taking a little weekend trip up there with the g/f... never been before, and it's pretty close by, so I figured 'why not?'... staying at a Hampton Inn about 3 miles from the North End area. Not really sure what to do apart from the duck tours, and the science museum... any one here ever visit Boston? If so, can you recommend some other cool activities or restaurants? Any EBers in the area (I think BluTsu lives somewhere around there...)?

Boston has the worst drivers in the country, as well. Hands down. No competition. This is coming from someone who has lived in or visited most of the major metropolitan areas in the continental United States.

Nope. Sorry. Los Angeles is only runner up. Los Angeles drivers are incompetent, Boston drivers are malicious.

Willco is right. I used to commute near the Boston area and got into a car fight (dude was racing me, trying to cut in front of me to slow me down) for 21 MILES. I was driving a fucking station wagon him some giant Ford Truck. I finally got away when he tried to overtake me from the right lane and got caught in slow traffic from that side. I lived to fight another day.

I went there once.

it was...nice?  I mainly went to the old-timey areas with all their "hey look we are hundreds of years old!" buildings and famous cemeteries, houses, boats, etc...they have lots of those if you're interested in period stuff.
I think I was just there for a day or two, was mainly a Canada trip with a few days in Boston.  Best memory I have of Boston was just seeing Less Than Jake play a free show back during their Hello Rockview still-good era.

My wife's company is based out of Boston, so she goes there once or twice a year for meetings. She never gets to see much of the city, but they always go out for extremely expensive food and drinks.
