He's going to Apple to be their global games editorial manager for the App Store.
What will bitchy Wii fans cry about now?

i guess the real question is
does anybody care about ign and/or matt casamassina?

Oh my god
The party is over!

He's been there since the begining, right? There's maybe 100 other people in the world who have had a decade-plus tenure at any internet comperable job out there.
I wish him luck, and yeah, IGN really has gone to shitsville lately, I blame Fox.

iPad/iPhone games are better than Nintendo games. :shh

but but who is going to hype Conduit 2 :'(
-
Oh well, IGN had a good run.
I can probably count how many times I've been on the site in the past 12 months on one finger.
But for a while there, it was a daily thing waiting for the ~6 PST update. N64.com => IGN64.com => and on through the years. It was always the only gaming site I went to, to be honest. Good times.
But, like I said, I don't visit the site at all now. It's still qualifies as the only site I go to, though.

it doesn't help that every single time they redesign the site they only make it worse, and navigation becomes more and more incomprehesible
-
Why did you leave ign, manabyte
-
Honestly I don't see any real difference between what IGN is now versus what they've always been.

ditto
btw, your avatar is pixelated, stoney. I'll fix it up for ya.

As long as IGN keeps this page up, it will have some worth: http://www.ign.com/index/videos.html
Most video games sites are good for videos or news (blogs mostly) but I haven't really read anything written on an IGN or 1up in while.

unless you mean content, they're always trying to "fix" the layout by adding layer upon layer of sub-navigation - it takes half a dozen clicks to get anywhere and half the time the links are broken

I did mean content but their navigation has generally also been bad for most of the prior decade (The 2000's I mean). Their current format isn't ideal either but neither was their prior incarnation where they simply flooded the front page with dozens of links to everything on the site. The reality is that a site with that much "content" tends to always be junky.
ESPN has always had the same problem also.

Haven't been on IGN for a while now

Wait, so leaving IGN for Apple is seen as getting on a lifeboat? Seems more like it should be seen as getting off a steam-powered paddleboat and onto a a catamaran.
Though in fairness Apple is known for starting and bailing from game initiatives with the grace of a ballet dancer. So it's a catamaran covered with male ballerinas. Ballerinos? What was the question?
