This is a serious post. The dog is 14 and for the past week has deteriorated rapidly. I can tell its in agony and I think its definitely time to cut this short. My sister is talking some crazy shit about waiting for the parent to get home in 4 days before we try to get it euthanised. I'm not cool with that. What would you do?
-
Throw it off a bridge
-
Put him/her to sleep.
-
Yeah, it just NOW died. Sucks.
:(
-
Wait, what? Joke post?
-
Time to derail this thread.
How old is your sister?
-
Wait it's not your dog? Don't do a thing then. If you do do it, take it to a vet to get it done.
-
:rofl
-
you guys suck
i'm sorry, man. losing a pet is always terrible :'(

-

-
It was in the family since I was ... 10? I'm crying, shucks. What bothered me for the past few days is that everyone was just watching it die. I don't have a car or any money so I felt like I couldnt do anything about it.
No it wasnt a joke post himuro, it literally died while I was writing the thread.
-
Again poor people shouldn't have pets.
-
HOW OLD IS YOUR SISTER
-
O when you said "the parent" I thought you meant the dogs owner not your parent.
Sorry dude. I lost my dog, which I had since I was 10, just about 2 years ago. It's hard.

Dude how old are you. Waiting for your parents to get home before making a decision?
sorry about the dog
-
Is this the first pet death you've dealt with? Sucks, huh?
-

What show is that?

It isn't the dying that has me irked to hell. Its that everyone just passively noticed it was dying and wouldn't do anything. I was really considering having to suffocate him earlier. The fucked up thing is that this dog never barks anymore except for the last hour or so it was alive and it let out this set of shrill raspy whimpers. Goddamit.
-
when my dog mikey was dying (i had given him to my dad because i couldn't have him at the apartment i was living in, and the cheap fuck never bought his heartworm pills) i was going to shoot him in the back of the head while he was sleeping, but i could never bring myself to do it :(
i can relate to your story, no one would help me load him into my car so i could take him to the vet, either (he was so big that when he jumped up he could put his paws on your shoulders and almost look you straight in the eye)
-
My dog Sparky got heartworms. We let someone take care of him when we were out of town for a few weeks, came back and he had heartworms. Guy said he gave him heartworm medicine. :(
Sparky was coughing and spit and snot was coming out of his nose, and he was just sick in general. I didn't want to leave him, but dad forced me to go this cub scout's field trip at San Jacinto monument - I think he did it because he knew Sparky was going to die and didn't want me to see it; get back, and my pup is dead.
Fuck heartworms!

i had to get our fatass white cat euthanized. i never got along with him, but i took him on his last ride to the vet's, and i felt really bad for the poor, mewling bastard. he had a huge polyp in his colon that was crushing his intestine, and his whole digestive tract was blocked up and septic. what a horrible way to die. he didn't fuss when i took him into the vet, or when they shot him fulla sodium pentathol. in fact, he was strangely silent the whole time after we got into my truck -- he had had been mewling in agony for several hours previous as we tried to figure out what the fuck to do for him and get some advice -- and kept staring straight at me, like i was the totem that would end his pain. that was totally weird and sad.
-
The family dog got really arthritic a while back. He was in so much pain, if you tried to pet him he'd growl and snap at you. Mom ended up having to put him down. I hated that dog with everything inside of me, but I was sad for my mother when she had to have him put down, because he meant so much to her.

The dog was also suffering from some kind of digestive fuckup. I doubt will ever know what exactly was the cause. But it was obvious between the liquid shit and not eating for a straight week. I'm sure he died starving and nauseous at the same time.

When we put down our dog this year, she didn't fight or do much of anything on the way to the vet. And that kind of behavior was not normal for her, even in her deteriorating state.
When she walked into the patient room, she just collapsed on the floor - like she knew it was her time.
All of us were pretty depressed and nervous, but her body language on the way to and at the vet signaled that she was "done". Its like she knew what was going to happen. Totally eerie.
She suffered from a mass in her stomach, but we never had a biopsy done to confirm it was cancer.

That sucks Emcee :-\
i had to get our fatass white cat euthanized.
:'(
Was this the cat that clawed on your balls and ruined Thanksgiving?
-
When we put our rottie to sleep, he didn't make a fuss at all but he always made a fuss on the way to the vet, so...
It was really weird. And the way he looked at me when they gave him the shot...I had my hand on his coat, petting him as he passed... it was really eerie and sad, and in a way, almost beautiful in how peaceful he went.
