First there's the prod which is "Hey, well, umm, I've got to go" and then the other person on the opposite side of the voice carrying device is all like "Oh ok, well, ok" and then you give out the final statements "Bye" or "Later" are acceptable, no long string of words since this may cause a conversation to reignite. There must be finality to your "Goodbye". Then they say, "Bye" and then you hang up.
