Eleanor Rigby would be better with the poetry for 16 year olds. That's actually high praise for McCartney's lyrics.
Doctor Robert is a truly awful song. I'm afraid it's going to get stuck in my head. :'(It's pretty bad.
Now I'm listening to Sgt. Pepper
I was making lunch for my wife while it played. She is wondering why the fuck i'm listening to the Beatles.Tell her you're doing it for a guy on the internet. That will explain everything.
Just skip everything and get to Abbey Road, the best Beatles album.I like Dylan's lyrics, but I have low standards when it comes to pop songs (I like Wings).
Oh, and I saw a Dylan diss in this thread :wag
Everything on Blonde on Blonde lyrics-wise, omg :bow2First lyrics off of the album:
Everything on Blonde on Blonde lyrics-wise, omg :bow2First lyrics off of the album:
Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good
They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home
Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
Just saying.
Now I'm listening to Sgt. Pepper
PD is correct about Revolver.
PD is correct about Revolver.
Filler? Outside of "Doctor Robert" I don't see it. I mean, the album is like 30 minutes long.

Not a very memorable album then. Whatever. Rubber Soul > Revolver
Rubber Soul is the first legitimately good Beatles album
A Day in the Life is legitimately amazing.
Now Please Please Me! has filler
Wrong again. The only thing that comes close filler on that album is Boys. I love Ringo, but the song just isn't up to snuff with the rest. Please Please Me is also very memorable. The 'covers' are excellent.
I have it on vinyl, btw. :rock
I'm going to trust Malek on this one
I trusted the critics on this one, and as usual I'm glad I did (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:difrxzlsldfe). No mention of my favorites unfortunately.
We had a pretty lengthy topic regarding the remasters about 8 or so months ago...lot of tears and bitter trolls went on through it. BUT, the remasters are fucking amazing, legit.
PeeDee is wrong. Revolver is just as good as any other random Beatles album.
Taxman - Great
Eleanor Rigby - Great
I'm Only Sleeping - Amazing
Love You To - Amazing
Here, There and Everywhere - Amazing
Yellow Submarine - This is actually one of my favorites. Even a lot of Beatles don't like this, but they are bitches I tell you. Good songs don't need to be complex, layered with all kinds of shit. This is song very memorable. McCartney's singing is great.
She Said She Said - This is one of those mind-blowing Lennon songs. Love it.
Good Day Sunshine - Amazing
And Your Bird Can Sing - Great. I don't really get what this song is about though. :-\
For No One - Amazing. McCartney proves he is as amazing as Lennon here, IMO.
Doctor Robert - This song is good shit. "You're a new and better man, he helps you to understand..." is so memorable.
I Want to Tell You - Another great song. I love the guitar here... Although I'll be honest, I'm not completely keen on George's voice here.
Got to Get You into My Life - Amazing.
Tomorrow Never Knows Mind-blowing.
