If you guys remember from last January, there was some talk about 2h leaking some minor details regarding Zelda Wii (here (http://www.zeldainformer.com/2010/01/new-zelda-wii-information-leaked.php)), but a lot of people just sort of assumed it was bogus. Well, they're doing it again, elaborating on some of their earlier findings, plus some other stuff: Here. (http://www.zeldainformer.com/2010/05/more-zelda-wii-information-leaked.php)
Link will be replacing the bow and arrow with a crossbow.
Game is all but finished. Putting on final touches.
There will be a playable demo at E3.
Time travel does occur and it happens through the use of a new blade. (not the master sword)
Link's hometown is much bigger than in previous titles.
There will be several "Majora's Mask" esque sidequests.
Character interaction will be more involving than in any previous title.
The dungeon field dungeon method is changed, and one of the changes confirms a straight dungeon to dungeon portion of the game.
The current name of the girl in the picture is Adelle.
Combat is extremely fluent and innovative. No previous Wii title can give you a good example of it's unique style.
The game relies heavily on sword combat versus other items.
There will be less items, but they will be used more frequently.
There will be another main weapon added for an alternative combat style.
The game will feature significant portions of flight.
Take it however you want. 2ch has been known to leak details about prominent Japanese games before, including two Zelda titles. Regardless, we'll see in about three weeks.

but will there be a hookshot?
-
I hope so :-[
-
It's like a list of things I wanted, whether from playing other Zelda games or things I like in games in general (flight, time travel). Sounds too good to be true.

But...no master sword :'(
-
biggoron sword is better anyway.
-
No master sword is a good thing. They always have it as the "magical sword that solves everything", and once you get it, it's what you use for the rest of the game. This new sword can be the same thing, but hopefully it will be more like MM or LTTP where swords get upgraded past that. Plus it mentions there is an alternative main weapon to use.
-
Regular controller option or just waggle?
If just waggle... WM+? Will the swings be representative of what you do with the controller?
These are the questions I want answered... hopefully they will be at E3.

Alternative combat style read: "morphs into some dumb fucking animal".

and flight will be done on a hot air baloon and you will have to wait but you won't be able to leave the game idling because you'll have to shot ducks down or something

you morph into the sword itself.

It's the snake staff from Aladdin. Arab Link > Train Link

Will need to play mystical bongos to change the direction of the wind.

Well, its not a zelda game without some gameplay gimmick.

The dungeon field dungeon method is changed, and one of the changes confirms a straight dungeon to dungeon portion of the game.
Huh? What does it mean?
The first article mentions that the general flow of the game is changing in this one. It won't be as cut and paste (overworld, town, dungeon, overworld, town, dungeon, etc.) as the other Zelda games. I guess they're saying here that in a certain case, after you finish with one dungeon you go directly to a new one with nothing story-related in between.
-
That sounds surprisingly awesome, for the most part. That bit about flight makes me wonder if they finally realized that every 3D overworld thus far has been a shitfest failure
-
I wouldn't be that hyperbolic. Wind Waker's ocean would have been fantastic if there were larger land masses to explore, or even fucking pass by. Twilight Princess' is solid because it's actually relatively realistically done, but yeah, fairly boring.
-
I dunno. I never used to agree that they were THAT bad, but I'm in the midst of a Link's Awakening playthrough and I really forgot how tightly everything was mapped out. LttP isn't quite on the same level, but it's still eons ahead of the giant, barren emptiness in all the 3D installments. I don't remember Twilight Princess' being much better than OoT's, but maybe I'm wrong here.
Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a giant list thread, so I'll just say that I'm cautiously hopeful for this one
-
Eh, I'm still of the opinion that you can't really compare the 2D overworlds with the 3d ones, considering the 2d ones aren't really "open-world," more than they are just interconnected rooms. I would like there to be some developer who can translate this design to 3D, but I haven't experienced it yet from anyone, let alone Nintendo.
-
The structure part sounds distinguished mentally-challenged, and if it's true, it seems to miss the point of Zelda.
-
How? Every Zelda has used it, and by now its gotten a bit stale. Why NOT try something new?
-
Well, I'm also not sure exactly what it means, but assuming it means going straight dungeon -> dungeon, does that mean the sidequests and overworld exploration only open up after you beat the game? If that's the case, it sounds dumb, and takes away part of the enjoyment of Zelda.
I'm not against changing the structure, but this particular idea doesn't seem like a very good one.
-
I'm like 99% sure that's not what it means.
-
You're definitely misunderstanding it. It says a portion of the game is a case where you go from one dungeon straight to another one. Based on the context, it doesn't seem to suggest that's like how it is the entire game.
-
It still sounds dumb, and hardly a significant shake up.
-
It just means that in Dungeon #4, you need to collect the 15 magic buttercups and turn into a canary, which grants you access to Dungeon #5.

You're making a pretty stupid judgement call on probably a badly translated factoid.

let's do this

YOU'RE A STUPID JUDGEMENT CALL :punch

I think God is punishing me for shitting on 3D Zelda by crashing Lameboy and corrupting my Link's Awakening saves :'( :'( :'(
-
link turns into an old man, and fights his arch-enemy, Alzheimor
then at the end it turns out it's ganondorf again
-
YES MAJORA'S MASK
Game sounds awesome. Please be true!

Take it however you want. 2ch has been known to leak details about prominent Japanese games before, including two Zelda titles. Regardless, we'll see in about three weeks.
Why do people always refer to 2ch as if it was a singular entity? Its a freakishly huge anonymous board. So pretty much everything gets posted there including a few true rumors and a whole lot of fake shit. So unless there is a good reason to believe the poster (like a good history or proof), there is no reason to trust a 2ch rumor over any no name gamefaqs/N4G/4chan rumor.
