Post by: Stoney Mason on June 04, 2010, 09:24:12 AM
There was an older thread for this game but I couldn't find it.

I can't wait. Great license for MS to pick up and continue on with. My only complaint is the boats don't act like they have any weight when they land on the water. Minor nitpicking aside it looks awesome.

Yea, why does the water behave like asphalt? Still love Hydro Thunder.

I honestly can't fucking wait for this one. Hopefully, MS puts the original Hydro Thunder up on XBLA or Game Room. :D

I'd like to see a new port of the arcade version. I was so excited for Midway Arcade Treasures 3 until I learned they were just putting the Dreamcast version on there. Don't get me wrong, the Dreamcast port was good, but it wasn't arcade perfect.

San Francisco Rush 2049 and THE ROCK made up for it  :punch

RUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Rush The Rock wasn't the same. Wonky controls, the music and sound FX were changed for the worse, and no multiplayer.

Rush 2049 was represented with the Dreamcast port on that comp, and I preferred the arcade version myself, tbh.

Anyone picked up the DLC for this yet? Bermuda Triangle looks awesome. I hope the new tracks are point to point. Not as big on the lap based tracks.

Not yet, no money for MS points at the moment.

If you're playing it, hook up with me over the weekend. I need some more wins for the 10 online wins achievement, and I can help you out with the online ones, too.

I should definitely be on. Right now I'm juggling between RDR: Undead Nightmare, Fallout, and this. I didn't get a chance to play the new tracks. I've got around 26,000 points and unfortunately you have to unlock them. The first track is unlocked at 29,000 and the final one is unlocked at around 42,000. Hit me up, though. My XBLA tag is the same as my name here.

Fun game. I'll probably pick it up today.

Just played this a little. Fun game, and it looks like it has a ton of content. $5 for this is a complete steal... But it REALLY should have been 60 fps. If Wipeout can do 60 fps at 1080p* and look WAY better, I don't understand why Hydro Thunder can't be 60 fps too. But whatever.

Bought it at 400 space bucks. Looks like there's DLC too...is that worth it? Is the DLC on sale too or is it normally 400? If that's the normal price i'll wait..

I didn't regret buying it at 1200, 400 is indeed a steal. Make sure to grab the Tempest Pack DLC for some more tracks, the Castle Von Boom level is all kinds of cool.

I couldn't get into the demo for some reason when it first came out.  It wasn't bad, it just didn't seem as fun as I remembered it in the arcades.
