Yep. Not the Go, though, obviously. I want an older model that I can mod like all you cool cats do. Which is the best model in order to do such a thing, now? Is the 3000 modscene up to snuff with how the 2000 scene was?
-
Grab a modded 2000. 3000s haven't been 100% cracked iirc.
-
The Slim's are the 2000s, right?

Yep.
-
When I decide to buy one, I'm going to need some help. Is there a good site that gives a rundown of everything I need to be aware of in terms of hacking? Most the sites I've run across on Google seem pop-up prone and crappy.
-
Nevermind, seems gbatemp has a decent forum topic on it.

I think 2000 and 3000 are both considered slims
they look very similar, but the ways to tell them apart in pictures are the home button logo, button shapes and mic hole under the screen. The 2000 has half circle buttons under the screen, the words "home" on the home button, and no mic hole. The 3000 has oval shaped buttons, a playstation logo, and mic hole.

Sony has a new promotion for the PSP-GO.

Tempting but I still prefer the buy a PSP-2000 and get 500 free games deal.

I've seen quite a few cheap CFW PSPs in the GAF B/S/T thread over the past few months. Just bought one myself. People usually sell them for around the same price as a normal used 2000 ($100-$120.) Installing CFW can be a pain in the ass.
Don't buy one on Ebay though, they usually get bidded up to $150-200.
-
Wait for E3, there might be a price-cut just around the corner.
-
PSP-GO not being hacked yet, is probably due also to its lesser popularity.
-
what a poor. nobody buys PSP "for the games"
-
PSP2 will be an online-only console that phones home every time you turn it on or else you can't even get into the XMB. every half hour it'll do a retinal scan to make sure the registered user is still on the machine.

I bought a PSP to read EB in the toilet.

Go ain't hacked yet?
How is it possible? So Sony finally outsmarted hackers?
So then it seems PSP2 will be unpiratable too at least for the first year.
Last time I checked, they found two new exploits that worked on the latest firmware -including the PSP Go- but I don't know if anything ever came of it.
With the Go, they will find exploits in certain games, but being download-only, if Sony finds out they can patch the games so the exploits don't work.
