No gameplay? WTF is there to be hyped about?
Is there a video of the gameplay? CG trailer does nothing for me :\
Hmm, graphically it looks nice and fast but the whole cat and mouse slowing down, speeding up, trying to play car tag looked kind of boring after a little. Plus the track was just kind of long straight road.
Criterion is so overrated. Aside from Shift, this game is just like the 10 NFS before it.Hey, unlike the last few NFS console games, at least this will run at 60 fps.
Criterion is so overrated.:lol
Criterion is so overrated. Aside from Shift, this game is just like the 10 NFS before it.Burnout 3 is one of the best, and most original arcade racers ever. Paradise took the OWG idea and applied it to everything they'd learned from that success, forward. Criterion may have made crap middleware, but they knew how to milk their own engine, and build on their successes.

this video shows it off a lot better than the EA conference video
they do mention it is open world, but because it is built around high speed, it sounds like it is more long stretches and such instead of something like Paradise where there were a bunch of roads and intersections.
Found some gameplay footage.

Looks like it's 60 FPS, allright.
I need this on day one. When does it come out again?November 16th. Which version are you getting? I'm getting the X360 version, in case it gets exclusive Ferrari DLC like NFS Shift.
I only have a 360. Even if I had both systems, most of my friends game on the 360 so I'd get it on that.I look forward to kicking your ass on Autolog, then. :-*
We got some overlap. Wanna play some Marvel VS Capcom 2, Tekken 6, Burnout Revenge, Game Room, or Perfect Dark?My cousin is playing MW2 on my profile right now, but I'll be on Tekken 6 when he's done.
Sadly, I'll be busy for most of the week, but I may be available over the weekend. :'(We got some overlap. Wanna play some Marvel VS Capcom 2, Tekken 6, Burnout Revenge, Game Room, or Perfect Dark?My cousin is playing MW2 on my profile right now, but I'll be on Tekken 6 when he's done.
Sucks that the 360 version isn't 60 fps but as long as it's locked at 30 fps I won't mind.
Screw you guys bitching about the framerate. This game is mine. :bow Criterion :bow2
Once players add a friend to their Need for Speed friends list, the second event will unlock called Roadsters Reborn, where gamers can compete as racers to set the best times.
Tried the demo. Only tried the cop stage. Quite dull, very simplistic gameplay. Takedowns don't feel as satisfying as in Burnout. Not my bag of skates

+1 Word. They also make you sit through like six minutes of unskippable ads for the game and then you can't try one of the races until someone on your friends list tries the demo. :lol
Pass on this.
rofl. this game is wack. BUY SPLIT SECOND PLZ thanks

YES THIS!
It reminds me of burnout 3 takedown but mixed with NFS Hot Pursuit. The game feel's dead, not just the environment but the roads. After burnout I just expect lots of cars constantly on screen at once. Another thing there is no sense of danger or urgency, the music helps but there was something about the previous Hot Pursuit games that felt better.
I'm still gonna buy this still cause I have to have something till the best racing game in the world comes out in January.... Test Drive Unlimited 2!!!
Problem 3: Driving/ramming other cars is boooo-ring
rofl. this game is wack. BUY SPLIT SECOND PLZ thanksWe know your taste in racing games is suspect, but seriously, that game is frustrating.
What's frustrating about it? I got all the achievements just fine. NFS put me to sleep, I almost didnt even finish the race.Being in the thick of a race, only for the AI to assrape me by setting off a barrage of power plays to put me in dead last while one AI car builds up an impossible lead.
Split Second caught me the minute I played it, and I constantly fired up the demo to replay it. Speaks LEAGUES on how good it is.
How many teams does Criterion have? I want a proper Burnout sequel. I know they were once rumored to be working on Road Rash but that never came to fruition.I was bummed about the cancelled now-gen Road Rash, I hope Criterion gets a crack at bringing it back in the future.
Crap gameDude, you have Hannah Montana: The Movie on your gamercard with all the achievements. Your opinion is worthless.

I'll grab the game on launch day, I'll report my thoughts in the random gaming talk thread.Crap gameDude, you have Hannah Montana: The Movie on your gamercard with all the achievements. Your opinion is worthless.
Post some impressions when you get the game ferrariman. My tastes tend to go more towards yours so I'd be curious about your opinion.
Just knocked Stoney off the Speedwall. :lol
OMFGiPhones are for hipster feggits. They need to make an Android version. :-*

Is this anything like old school Burnout?
If this trailer reaches 1 million views, it'll unlock free DLC:

I haven't visited GB in while, did they remove quality option for their videos as part of the subscription model?
Is this anything like old school Burnout?
You mean burnout 1 and 2 or burnout before paradise?
Is this anything like old school Burnout?
Played a decent amount on the PC with a 360 controller. Controls seems fined to me. Very simple driving model with fairly easy to control powerslides. The better cars get really fast.
How's the PC community look for this? Seem like it'll have some lasting power?
Every Burnout fan should try this game. It feels almost like Burnout 3 Takedown when racing with the supercars. :rock

I thought it felt like Revenge, which is my favorite Burnout and the reason I'm buying this.
lol @ people saying this is anything like Burnout.Like I said, to me it feels more like Ridge Racer with actual weight to the cars when they drift.
It's sort of like Burnout. It you had to compare it to another racer, non-paradise Burnout would be it. Although it's still nothing like Burnout, but that's the closest comparison in how it plays.thank you
The demo was awful, but full game seems hot. Same thing happened with BP.
Anyone here playing this on the 360?Same here. Gamertag is tifosiotaku.
I've learned how to drift properly around any turn and now I'm getting gold medals like crazy. Also shitting on ferrariman's times left and right. :lol>:(
Will be excited when this $10 in a Steam sale.
PC owners never got surf island either, right? Criterion/EA dlc seems to be a console only thing.

It shits on Paradise.
open world kills everything good about the racing in paradise
Bullshit. Road Rage has never been better than it is in Paradise; starting off by the marina and realizing you've traversed the whole damned city before the event completes is hot stuff. And so is doing infinite Burnout combos along the highway, god damn.I said races. And you still have to watch the map during road rages anyway. Still takes some fun out of it.
I'm not a navigator at all. I don't wanna navigate in racing games.open world kills everything good about the racing in paradise
sounds like someone is just a bad navigator.
Paradise was easy to navigate after a few hours.:lol
Honestly I think Paradise is almost flawless. It would be if it wasn't open world. And didn't have stunt runs.
I never quit a race in paradise. If I lost or was losing bad I'd sit still for 4 seconds and let the event retire and then drive to the next corner and give that one a shot. I loved how the open-world let you go from event to event without having to click through menus. You're always driving, no interruptions.
i would so play a smokey and the bandit game set in 1977Dangit, I knew NFS Hot Pursuit was missing the '77 Trans Am. :rofl
