This happened in Mass Effect 2, Overlord DLC too

I uninstalled the drivers and installed the 10.5 Ati ones but the results were the same. I have a HD4870, anybody have a similar problem?

Looks like bad ram.  Downclock your card and see if the artifacts go away.

Send it back.  Maybe ATI will be nice and send you a 5 series replacement.

Anyone have experience sending stuff back to ATI? My card if working fine, just wondering since my warranty ran out and the card is apparently not in production anymore

If the framerate took a significant hit when the glitch occurred, then something in your computer is overheating.

Framerate was at 60FPS with VSYNC on.

Interesting.

Have you tried using a different port on your card i.e using HDMI instead of DVI?

He's looking to fix his hardware problems, not encounter new ones.

This just happens in select areas. Either in Mass Effect 2 (only happens in the overlord DLC, in a specific part of the game) or in Singularity.

Doesn't happen in Mirrors Edge, Transformers. Will try Fallout. Doesn't this mean its not the graphics carD?

I would think that if the problem is with one game and not all games that the card is fine. Run a defrag overnight. The problem could be some game files that are corrupt.

Did you try downclocking CPU/RAM as well?  Artifacts like those are usually related to hardware issues rather than driver problems.

I tried that, and today i find out the problem really is the card.

Boot up Sniper game that came out, and the image was all fucked up. So i just switched to the Nvidia GT to render it and see what i got. Completely normal image.

Problem is the graphics card. Heh, i guess it's an excuse to upgrade. Here i go again browsing the anadtechs and shit to see what card to buy
