Your thread title sucks donkey dick.

It's not a Smallville rip off. It's based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics.

Peter was like 14 in the ultimate spiderman books :lol

Hey guys, this franchise is all washed up now anyway. We learned that from Spiderman 3. So...

Too soon? Too soon?

Why do we need a Spiderman reboot, only a few years after the last Spiderman movie? Let it rest
-
They've not given it enough time for a reboot. Hell, they barely pulled it off with Batman and there were quite a few years between the Tim Burton run and the Chris Nolan run. Yes, the series could use a reboot, or they could just up and say, "Hey, we're sorry about that last one. Friends again?"
-
The dude looks like Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell in some of his photos.
Sony's throwing this one together. They've got to get it released next year otherwise the rights revert back to Marvel. Same goes for Fantastic Four. Fox is rebooting that one :lol
-
Nah, this has been in development for awhile. Sony forced Raimi off so they could do this. It's not really a rush job.
-
Spider-Man 3 wasn't that awful that it already warrents a reboot.
-
It has nothing to do with Spidey 3, which was a huge money maker for Sony and everything to do with Twilight. They want that Twilight money.
-
They are gonna turn Spiderman into a 70 million dollar budget version of a Sci Fi channel show, with teen drama lifted straight out of Twilight, in the hopes that they can, just like Summit, make 800 million dollars out of a 70 million dollar movie.

Good grief, yes.
The first one was less than ten years ago. Give it a rest.

Spider-man 3 wasn't that bad but the direction they were heading was boring. Ignoring venom and whatever pressure there was to include him, the main reason Spider-man was going after Sandman was because someone told him that this guy was secretly responsible for his uncle's murder. Or Green Goblin 2/Jr whose defeat came at the hands of a prick butler who decided to tell Harry the truth only after he got smashed by spider-man and invested all this time into a hoverboard and paintball mask.
All I gather from this new movie is that they want to take it back to the "classic" spider-man and that sounds like what they did with the Hulk movies.
-
If they're going the Ultimate Spider-Man route I can see them including Venom easily. They better add the Lizard. Damn Raimi is such a tease. Three movies with Dr. Connors and we didn't get to see him. Mysterio would also be cool.
I wished they would do a new Blade and bring Morbius into the picture. I believe that was the idea for 2 but Marvel refused to allow them his use. At the time they were wanting to create a standalone film. Sucks now because if we do see Morbius I'm sure he'll be some Twilight ripoff :-\
Oh dammit I think I may have stumbled on their plan....They want the Twilight money.... You heard it here first. Morbius is the villain. It'll basically be Twilight New Moon redone except with Mary Jane longing over Morbius and Peter Paker trying to woo her over. It'll end Morbius finally taking her and impregnating her. He'll give her a c section with his fangs only to have Peter Parker jump out and shout he's going marry her child when she's of age.
