Quick question - I have a client that is having problems with accessing the internet via firefox and IE does not open.

Just wondering if it sounds like a virus or not.

Thanks.  This isn't happening to me but someone asked if I might be interested in taking a crack at fixing it.

Yeah, before you even try to tackle the Internet issue, IE not working at all points to some malicious software. Also even after you've cleaned it up make sure the Proxy settings in IE are set to the default (automatic detection).

If you even suspect it might be some sort of malware, I suggest porting over some sort of scanner via USB.  MalwareBytes has been the constant here lately, so pop that over and scan.  If that doesn't detect anything, ask if they use a proxy server, and check proxy settings to see if maybe someone reset something.  IE not opening could just be a bad install/corrupted install.  See if it lets you reinstall that version or a newer version.

Thanks again for the suggestions and help, guys.  If the guy asks me to come in I'll definitely be trying everything you all mentioned.
