"Remake" of Let Us Cling Together on PSP
-
hmmm.
fuck it, it's TO, I'm on board! :hyper
-
we've been talking about it in random gaming talk.
HYPE
-
Well that proves nobody reads that thread
Let's put this pic here instead

Just got the original for PS1 a few weeks ago but haven't played it yet... still, I'm hoping this TO remake makes it out to the US, considering the PSP market here is dead like Biggie. I'm hoping a lot of these late-game PSP titles get 3DS ports.
-
I didn't know about this. Proof that the Random Gaming Talk thread is shit and should be locked, when thread-worthy info such as this is confined to some stickied thread.
-
Tactics Ogre PSP is no "random" talk. They can talk about their silly Japa Fighters there cause nobody cares. That is what Random Talk is for.
-
PSX version of Tactics Ogre has a nasty bug that will sometimes corrupt your game save, so I greet this PSP version with enthusiasm.

Damn... just bought the PS1 version too :P
I hear the SNES one is still better (there's a translation available, based on the PS1 translation), but now I think I should just wait for the PSP ver. I never played Tactics Ogre.
-
Always make a backup save in another memory card if you're playing Tactics Ogre.
-
hands off the random gaming talk thread :maf
-
I seriously doubt this will be coming here, though. After Peace Walker bombed, I can't imagine any more high profile localizations. God bless, XSEED, though.
-
Except Squeenix trademarked TO recently
-
And it's not like it's going to cost real monies to localize. Doubt there'll be any voice. Just pure text translation.
-
Another PSP game?
good

I'm talking about marketing and production costs. I hope I'm wrong, though. :)
-
well i never played the original, so i just downloaded it and will start it tonight. Always wanted to play this!
how's the ps1 ogre battle btw? i've had it sitting around collecting dust for like 3 years
-
Are they converting the maps into 3D? I hope so.

Looks like the snes versions with super sal and eagle but without the artifacts. That said i will be buying this.
-
It's full-on 3D, dude.

unfortunately since the sprites are exactly the same, yeah the sprites look crappy smooth filter'd
everything else looks wonderful and the camera is zoomed out enough the sprites should look fine.
-
I agree everything else looks good especially the character portraits. Wish they didnt cheap out on hte sprites.
-
I'm betting this is being done by TOSE.
-
Hopefully the sprites animate good to make up for their blandness. The 2D Art is fucking top notch.

They're the same sprites as the SNES version, I doubt they added any animation frames to them.
-

Nah. This is a project by the big boys.
-
I doubt the big boys would bother with a port of a 15-plus year old game. They probably told TOSE what they wanted and let TOSE handle the heavy lifting.

Did you see the staff list? The game is being made with heavy hands on by Matsuno, Minagawa, Sakimoto, Yoshida, etc...
This is Matsuno's first game in like 6 years. He's going to make sure it isn't a PoS like FFT PSP.
-
Looks great but I'm not getting suckered into the hype until an English version is announced.

An English version has already been announced.

FFT PSP wasn't a POS.
Ehhhh, the game did not run well.
-
It was an average port.
-
Aren't FFT graphics just 2d sprites? That's pretty weak porting if it runs poorly on a PSP. Does overclocking to 333 help with performance?
-
There's like a weird quarter second of loading before each attack, and it can't be gotten rid of with overclocking, it has something to do with how it was programmed.
I didn't mind it at all, wouldn't have even noticed it if it weren't for all the whining about it.
-
the simple idea – “how TACTICS OGRE would be if it was developed and played now.”
an FPS then
