I've wanted to see this type of follow-up for some time. I played basketball and took some classes at a Baptist church for some years, and it was the ultimate stereotypical fundie environment. Nearly all the kids (except the black ones of course lolol) were rather hardcore bible thumpers/conservatives. But in the nearly 10 years that have passed since then, nearly every one of them have gone off the rails. Having kids, piercings, drugs, etc. When you tell a kid that the cookie jar is evil and can never be touched, the minute they can reach it they're going to eat more than they should.

I remember getting in trouble for admitting I went to see Harry Potter in the theater. A guy on the team asked if I saw the movie, and the more I think about it the more it seems like he was trying to get me shitcanned; we played the same position on the team and he wanted to start. Anyway my answer somehow traveled from the locker room to the principle's office, and I got 25 demerits.
