Yes I know, a surprising first but damn I <3 goemon and the second game for N64 is amazing and very underrated. It also features an excellent 2 player co-op option.

I literally played through that game like thirty times. From there I moved on to other things like getting into the metroid franchise for the first time and...... shit. I think I played melee and double dash for 3 years straight.

Dude, I can probably name 25 Capcom games alone that I love. Throw in Namco, 3rd party Sega, old school Konami, and a few other 3rd parties (PC devs count too, right)... there's way too much.

Yeah, I don't know about that. This generation in particular, 3rd party games have beaten the living shit out of the first party stuff......Wii excluded of course. No one fucking cares about the Wii.

Third party titles have always been better than first part though, because there's so many first party games one company can make compared to a whole slew of third party games. The only exception is maybe Dreamcast.
