Great game. Best strategy rpg since Final Fantasy Tactics. Stick to shitty Nippon Ichi games.my bitterness-o-meter exploded :smug
I havent put time into Valkyria but I hate art books because they are a waste of money and get zero use.
Nobody is gonna visit your house and pluck the "Valkyria Chronicles Artbook" and be like "Wow gee this is interesting! Thank you for letting me read this!"
GET FUCKING REAL
I've gotten a few artbooks that came with games or whatever, I usually just look through it once, put it away somewhere, and never look at it ever again. Although, I'm not the kind of person to go to art galleries either, so maybe I'm just not the target market.

:lol who cares if other people look through it? part of the appeal for fans of the series is to see how the character designs came together through various stages of concept art, usually with commentary from the artists (like so (http://imgur.com/aKFDv.jpg)). and then there's just a bunch of nice art to appreciate.
an art book and a making-of featurette are the only two things that i want out of limited editions. everything else is worthless junk. actually, a bonus soundtrack CD is good too, but i just download those anyway.

That was just one random example that I found off google. But it is interesting to see if one character looked completely different during the concept stages. There are usually more substantial comments, like what they were going for and why it didn't work, that type of thing.
Or it can just be filled with pages of nice art. I'd buy a Demon's Souls artbook in an instant if it was filled with this type of stuff: http://sarshelyam.brinkster.net/poop/DemonsSouls/demonssouls_jjoy_wallpaper_01.jpg
