Title: android figgurt klub: iphone hipsters and girls not allowed

recommend me some android apps and tips, homos! since you do not get laid, clearly you have the time to seek out the coolest and geekiest widgets!

But then, I'm a filthy Canadian, so every kb of data up here costs exactly one reek-ridden prostate punch by studded gimp (Family Plan).

I use Astro File Manager for navigating and moving files around. Highly recommend.

The Swype keyboard is lightyears better than the native Android keyboard once you get used to it, but by the time I went looking for it, the app had been pulled (I think it was in a limited beta). I managed to find the apk file that someone uploaded after a bit of hunting on http://www.xda-developers.com/ (http://www.xda-developers.com/), (which is a pretty handy site to have bookmarked for any Android development news, as well as having everything sorted by platform/model) and I'll gladly throw a few bucks at it when the final goes live. If you're interested and have trouble finding the apk file, pm me.

And finally, I use the AppBrain market app. This is just a handy way to see what's new or hot on the market without trudging through the previously-griped-about hundreds of junk apps that get tossed up every day. Helps make the decent/interesting apps stand out that you might have scrolled hastily by after viewing the fifth page of "Hot Sexy Girl" apps. Doesn't replace the default market, just provides a nice alternative.

wtf that sucks. imusic is the shit though. ivideo too. though i don't use it, it does the same thing for videos and you can even copy any youtube video onto your phone. it rocks.

I haven't actually used iTunes once since I got my Mac. Worst things Apples done imo, it doesn't monitor directories, has shitty codec support and has no plug-in architecture (can't add codecs etc, all locked down smh). I used to have it modified with some AppleScripts so it did monitor directories of my choosing for changes but Songbird is so much better I changed for good and it properly syncs with Android too.

I'm hopeful that 4.1 fixes it; if not, I guess it's time to invest in a Bluetooth headset

Same. The iPhone 4's been great for us and I haven't had any dropped calls or any other problems. Good stuff, but it's probably location-related, and when it comes time for the next phone, I will be looking at what the Android and Windows Phone 7 models are doing.

I don't have any problems with AT&T (we even got their U-Verse service at the house), but I used to have tons of problems with Sprint, and back in J-Land, shitty signals from Softbank.

Went looking for iMusic and found it had been pulled, and folks that have found the apk seem to be saying it no longer works. Have you or anyone here used it lately? Haven't come across an apk file in my searches yet, and there's not much sense in hunting if it doesn't work anymore.
