Akiyama is back, which is fucking awesome. He's the best part of RGG4 (a much better game than 3).

Depending on how crazy RGG5 is when they fully reveal it, I may have to marathon 3/4/PSP a month before it comes out.

I hope you fight Godzilla

Do you not see the DESTROYED CITY PICTURE?

Himuro, this is the future.  In the future the dead walk the earth as mecha-cyborgs.

Playing 3 right now and loving it. Next is the samurai one or whatever until 4 is released in English.

Looks like an earthquake ravaged city.

God, how incredible would Yakuza/Disaster Report be?  Looks like I'll be able to find out.

Yakuza games have jumped the fucking shark.

RGG4 is really good. Stop holding stupid e-grudges. I beat it late last night and thought it was great. You should play it when it gets localized.

This looks awesome.  I just picked up Yakuza 3 today and was going to wait until Yakuza 4 to marathon it, but I think I need to play it sooner now.

Hope Kenzan and the PSP one also come over.

I really loved the first Yakuza game. But I somehow never played the sequel. I think I'm going to do a Yakuza marathon when all the Yakuza games are released.

keep hope alive :rock

I don't care much about the PSP game, really, but the I thought the Kenzan demo was awesome.  If it never is released here, I'll get the import one day and use a guide to get through it.  I mean, it is better not to be greedy because I didn't expect Yakuza 3 and we got that and now Yakuza 4.  Who knows if Yakuza 5 will be released here.

I could see the PSP version coming over, but Kenzan is stuck in Japan. There's a really well made walkthrough for it on GameFAQs, so you should be just fine. As for RGG5, I'll import it in 2011 instead of waiting until sometime in 2012 to maybe play it.

Yeah I think at this point there's no way Kenzan is coming over. The ship has sailed on that one. I don't see the PSP game coming over either, due to the combination of it being a PSP game and a Yakuza game -- that is double kryptonite for sales in the west.

i don't know if this is true but...

Sega wasn't going to release this. They found out that if they didn't release it in this quarter Sega of Japan would license it to Atlus in a deal with Yakuza Kenzan and first dibs rights to all future Yakuza games. They freaked out and realized that they'd lose the rights to Sega's biggest Japanese franchise that their Japanese side will be pouring money into regardless of Western sales, so they're cobbling it together just to hold onto the license for the future.

if this is true then i guess they will be forced to release it or face the same ordeal again

Who?

Goda is by far the best villain between the first 3 games. He's the only one who seemed like he could go toe to toe with Kiryu.

Goda has a black glove on one hand, ala Luke Skywalker...

As for the PSP title, I'll wait until I can get it cheap(er) or when Sega announces a localized version, whichever comes first, seeing how I never actually get around to playing portable games.

That dude is the fucking best. BTW, if you have Netflix you should get the Miike-directed YAKUZA: LIKE A DRAGON film adaptation. It is cheesy and awesome

Majima isn't in RGG4 very much, but Akiyama (Koichi Yamadera... Spike Spiegel and Ryoji Kaji) is so awesome, it doesn't matter.

Mr Gundam has it right. Jesus Christ, who is expecting internal logic from Japanese game writing anymore? Go play Mario.

Yakuza 5 will start with North Korea bombing Tokyo, and it will be up to Kiryu Kazuma to lead prostitutes, chinpira, and salarymen to safety in the mountains.

I thought it was pretty good.  It's basically Y1/Y2 in your pocket with a new upgraded battle system and comic cutscenes like Peace Walker.

:lol Finally watched that trailer. Looks amazing. I thought this was the most distinguished mentally-challenged shit ever when it was first announced, but actually I think this series could use something distinguished mentally-challenged like this. It's a nice break from the usual.
