I still have a closet full of candles and shit from the last time a hurricane headed this way, and I have a shake flashlight. Make sure everything is charged, and I am good to go.

You should buy ice cream, so if the power goes out you can be all "oh well, I guess I'm forced to eat all this ice cream before it goes bad!" Plus it helps with the lack of AC.

-3 gallons of drinking water

-lighters
-flint and steel
-propane torch
-couple bags of chips
-bagels
-cream cheese

And most importantly, I went by the ABC store earlier and got a big fucking bottle of cheap bourbon, because if my power is out for days everyone will be happier if I am not sober.

I just filled up a bunch of water bottles and jugs and froze some of them. Rita wasn't shit. But Ike was hell. And my power was only off for 4 hours or so. 8) We had a party at my place. Grilled, got drunk and watched movies and listened to loud ass music while everyone else I knew was taking cold showers and shit. 8)

When Fran came through in 1996 it tore chunks of the apartment roofs off in the complex. The painter/sheetrock guy I worked for at the time was overjoyed.
