Looks kinda interesting; hopefully it's not as mediocre as Space Invaders Extreme.

Oh shit, the controls will be playable now!

It was probably one of the most playable games on the iphone. It auto shot in that version and it was pretty easy to directly control the ship. Of course its a small hand held screen so that's an issue but otherwise the main reason I'll pass on this version probably is that I was completely fine with the iphone version.

I personally thought moving your ship was really finicky.

What are you doing here?

I bought the PS3 version, but haven't played it yet.

Absolutely; as bitchy as I've been about how terribly I think touch control is on iPhone games, Infinity Gene played like butter. There would be the occasional time when my finger would get in the way due to a perfect combination of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but otherwise, I was shocked how controllable I found the game to be.

Played this new version at E3 just enough to confirm that they hadn't screwed anything up, but not enough to spoil anything. I just have to get past the internal conflict I'm having over which platform to get it on.

I tried out the trial version on live. It's good. And for most console guys they probably will prefer that version over dragging their finger over a tiny screen but honestly I'm perfectly fine with the iphone version and will pass. I actually prefer the auto-shoot gameplay from the idevice version. It allows me to just concentrate on the moving part which is the real fun of the game anyway.

i dont know why but the game forces you to send in your stats manually to register on the leaderboards. the leaderboard hardly has many players on it because of this. and you have to wait 6 minutes after you send your stats if you want to register them again...its like they couldnt afford the bandwidth for leaderboards

i actually prefer the controls on a iOS device as well. oh well, i kinda felt like i wasted 800 pts on this.

hi shidoshi~

sorry for the mixup with your registering.

I take absolutely no meaning from the fact that it took me eight months to get an account registered here, and that twice during that time my accounts were completely deleted. I mean, why would those things in any way lead me to believe that you guys might be trying to send the message that you don't want me here?

*goes off to cry in the corner*

Duder, I swear I never saw a "shidoshi" in the queue. I know who the notable GAFfots are so if I saw it I would have clicked it through

Trying the demo now, though, it's so utterly bizarre playing this game with a controller where I have to use a button to shoot! My brain just can't comprehend it yet.

Not sure why I'm trying the demo though. I'm going to buy this game, end of story. I don't like hearing about that issue with the leaderboards, though, since far and away that's going to be the biggest benefit to me in the jump to PSN/XBLA (the leaderboards overall, that is).

My last post was not in any way meant to be taken seriously. I know I can be a drama queen at times, but really, I'm not that bad. *heh*

Cool! I wonder how it plays with an arcade stick. Will try this soon.

hopefully it's not as mediocre as Space Invaders Extreme.

I tried the demo and thought it sucked.  This is someone who loved the DS one.

So much MENUS and MENU TRANSITIONS.  It's like you get to shoot for 10-15 seconds and then you sit through a bunch of transition menus and then 10-15 seconds and a bunch of transition menus.  Completely killed the flow for me.

I thought the demo was pretty fun actually. It seems to play closer to a normal shooter than the typical Space Invaders shooting gallery. That being said, I think I'll pass for now and use my points on the King of Fighters shooter instead. 8)

Give it a chance! Seriously, at first it'll feel like that, just because the game is easing you into things. Once you get past the first couple of evolutions, stages will become longer and far more involving. (At least, the iPhone version was this way, so I'd assume this version will be similar.)

You'll still have a few stages here and there that are shorter, but they're meant to be that way.

I dig the hell out of it.  I don't own an ipod, so I don't know what all the eariler fuss is about, all I can tell yous guys is that its a fun shooter with some great music, good art, and seemingly tons of content.  I'd say its a lock for the best shooter available on PSN (although not like it has much competetion there).  Its a refreshing antidote to bullet hells.

I love the music/stage generation feature.  It turns out that Roy Orbison was a heckava game designer.

This game is somehow minimalist and seizure inducing at the same time.  :heart
