Immediately flip stuff you no longer like/need/want on ebay. Consider each purchase a rental with flexible return dates.
-
hook it up with a gamertag bitch :dur

How do 360 games look on regular, cheap TVs?
I want a 360, but I don't want to get one without an HDTV. And since I don't have $800 to spend on one...yeah :(
-
Get an HDTV blah blah.
Not until a decent one is around the $600 pricerange.
And even then, I'm not buying one right away.
Not for at least another two years.
Next-gen will have to put up with my ghetto 27" Wega. If I ever decide to indluge in it, of course.

Do your laundry.

Buy a used crt and a vga cable. HD gaming for 100 bucks.
-
the first few months I used a 20 inches LCD TV with the Xbox 360, but then I got a proper LCD HDTV in widescreen and the high resolution is so beautiful, I never plugged it to the 20 inchers ever again
it still looks respectable, however once you play in HD you're not going backward

that's approximately what mine cost, 26 inches LCD HDTV from Daytek at Costco Canada, amazing picture quality that rivals sets I've seen from Sharp at nearly half the price, I use it hours a day and am extremely satisfied
-
Wow, it's so.... beautiful. Congrats, demi.
I still don't have the loot to pick one up :-\
-
If it makes you feel better I mostly use my 360 for XBLA and as a DVD player loooolz
-
Round up your dirty socks and draws, return them to Wal-Mart (or what ever you do for money) and get Oblivion & Prey :D
-
I'm gonna get Oblivion for sure, Prey is a rental

Link me to the specifications for this television. Or tell me if you don't know of a site that has 'em.
Does it have HDMI? If I'm going hi def, I want to make it count.

As I said it's a Canada-exclusive and I think only Costco sells them. My point remains though, these are basically OEM'ed LCDs and many value brands basically use the same components and the same panel (LG-Philips IIRC). It performs extremely well and at this price 749$ CDN for the 26 inch, 999$ for the 32 inch) it's tempting to get a taste of high-def this early. So by shopping around you're pretty sure to find a similar deal.
This set hasn't got HDMI, however it has DVI (which is just the video portion of HDMI, with full HDCP support). You can easily get a HDMI to DVI cable. It's got 8MS of response time too, so I have absolutely no problems with ghosting.

Hmm, very nice...
But it's still too early for me. I bet in a couple years you could get something like that for $400.
-
Yeah, and two years is a long fucking time you dork. You're really that concerned with $400? Wait ten years and I bet it will be even cheaper!
-
or get a job and shorten those two years to... two months!
-

well, wait during the Christmas period, where all kinds of electronics will be liquidated, and probably even moreso after its over since lots of stock remains after the holidays are over, and retailers must sell the remaining 2006 models to make room for the 2007 ones
you could probably find a deal nearly that good I'm sure :P
-

Wise choice.
Yes, the 360 is worth it for Oblivion, Dead Rising, and GRAW, and coming soon, Gears of War and Mass Effect.
BTW, the GamerTag is Bloodwake100.
-
haha demi finally got one!
-
Blood: also Lost Planet woo
