Actually I might just print it out and put a piece of velcro over each date, make up a set of opposite velcro dates and change it each month. Every month is Cocktober in my house. :smug

3. Martha has nothin on me. (Well except a record. :smug) I've been redecorating my house like crazy! Won't even tell you what psychotic girl thing I did Saturday. Spent all day Sunday doing crazy amounts of reorganizing and decorating in the office, just did a bunch of updates in the bathroom tonight. But I seriously thought about making a Cocktober calendar of some sort for the new office. The parents would probably see it and find it hilarious.

Alright, alright. I drove 5 hours to Chicago and 5 hours back on Saturday just to go to IKEA.  :'( Who the fuck does that?! Girls! That's fucking who! Don't judge me!! :( Road trip with my bff was fun though! It was basically the most fun IKEA adventure ever. We couldn't fit anything else in my car.  :-[ :( :hyper

The first time I had a panic attack (that basically lasted the 17 hours it took us to get back out of the fucking building). So it can never be worse than that.

This time we got there at 6pm on a Sat night, so there was hardly anybody there.  There weren't masses of idiots walking in circles like normal so we were done in 3 hours, and still had an entire carload of shit.


I mean, what are you talking about? I was home playing video games all weekend. :ninja

Luckily my little Mupepe's Hispanic background can easily be passed off for my own Native American, and my husband has never questioned it.


Some of the stuff at IKEA is super cheap and cheaply made, which is good for po' people, but I was buying stuff I can't get here or stuff that is relatively inexpensive but is still better quality than the same product from Target or whatever.

Their furniture sucks balls- its lasts a year and then it falls apart. Ikea food is pretty awesome though.

From now on I'm sticking with shit that can't possibly fall apart, like my little rail things to hang in the kitchen that are just metal. We've had those up a year and they're still in good shape while keeping all the silly bullshit off my countertops.

I have an IKEA couch that's several years going and still in solid condition with little visual wear.  It was most definitely not cheap.

I also have a vanity chair from them too that was a total peice of shit right out the door and was very cheap.  If you lean forward in it, it topples right over.  Looks nice, though.

Moral: you get what you pay for.

Exactly. 1.) We've been in the store for 10 hours and finally found our way out, so fuck furniture. 2.) We have no room left in our cart for some huge bullshit box. 3.) It's not exactly easy to find anything in the furniture part, and when you do, you can't inspect it to make sure it's in decent shape. You hope it looks ok by the box, and you hope it's the right type and color by the "bin" and "aisle" the box is located in. You could get it home and it could be a pink fucking dresser.  :-\

I dunno. That was definitely the first and last time for the furniture, unless I'm feeling lucky. But if that's the case, I'll probably just stop at the Casino Queen on my way back instead.

I love the fucking rail things you install on the wall though. :heart  I have them all over the house. Two in the kitchen, with the metal baskets to hold spices and with hooks to hold large cooking utensils, and a oil/vinegar set that has a hook. One by the back door that has all the doggy stuff, a metal basket that has their retractable leashes, and hooks for their harnesses. One by the front door for our keys, sunglasses, random bullshits. One in the bathroom with http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70105659 (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70105659) that fucker to hold make-up brushes, and the metal basket to hold my makeup and other random shit. They're like $2 each http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50072645 (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50072645), and the baskets http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90072648 (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90072648) are $2 each, and we've had the ones in the kitchen for a year, no rust, all metal, still look awesome. We bought a bunch of that shit for my mom and my MIL because they're both always commenting on our shit. That and the meatballs. :drool
