That's always been the goal of the Kirby games tho. Easy from a head on approach, but a bit of depth found in cool levels with secrets buried within.
Squeak Squad is easier than Amazing Mirror in that the level path isn't so fuckin obtuse. I think id have a much easier time with Amazing Mirror if there was some rhyme or reason beyond trial and error to getting to areas. Squeak Squad looks great, the ability to store forms is awesome, and the magician and ufo forms are OMG awesome. Twister is still the form to beat tho. Invincibility, flying around, and you only become vulnerable again between twisters for about a second. I beat the second to last boss using this and omg easy.
While its probably even easier than NSMB I had much more fun with this title since the level design was MUCH more clever and a lot of attention was put on making what form you used in what stage matter. Not only that but through secrets you collect special techniques for each form. Some techniques can also take on properties. Like electric kirby on a thunder cloud makes a bigger SHOCK but the cloud eventually vanishes from the move. Racer Kirby can take on the property of fire when hit with fire while in motion. It can also take on the property of electricity. Fire Kirby is used to light fuses running through a few levels to reveal secrets, the list goes on and on.
I will say its pretty fun collecting the special moves cause you can really find a costume you like the best. Tornado is just cheesy, but swordsman or ninja with the special moves = ftw.
So in short, NSMB is neat, but Kirby Squeak Squad offers more FUN. Go buy it lol.

OMG NINJA KIRBY!!!
-
Ninja Kirby rox, his special move is awesome, but the ninja stars and the wall grapple rock too.
-
I'll chime in in a week or so.
-
cloudwalking said she was giving me a copy, holla
should be cool. canvas curse was tizzzzight.
-
Its a lot of fun!
-
Is it the best 2D Kirby yet would you say?
-
yeah, it's probably the most balanced and best-produced Kirby yet -- what it lacks in difficulty it makes up for with secrets and overall polish.
-
I dont think it would really take much to beat NSMB, its actually a crappy game.
-
CASTLEVANIA POR OMG OMG
-
NSMB wasn't that good in the first place unfortunately.
-
Doesnt make my statement any less true!
-
It's my favourite Kirby game, bar none, so far. I'm only at the second world and I can say this with confidence.
Yeah it's a bit easy, but as far as Kirby games go I think it's more challenging than the lot of them.
I luv it :heart
-
Yeah the challenge for players will be in getting all the chests, some of the levels are almost puzzles.
-
I downloaded it, not bad at all. Its not hard but getting all the chests can be very hard.
-
I beat the game and dont have nearly all of them. I lent the game to someone but once I get it back ill slowly work through all the levels to get em. Some seem really tricky or require a particular form.
Amazing Mirror is a harder game, but Squeak Squad is more challenging than Nightmare in Dreamland by a longshot.
-
So since canvas curse is the only kirby game that justfies the IP, therefore we logically deduce that canvas curse>>>>>>>squeaker>nsmb
In all seriousness, I wouldnt have traded nsmb in if the life counter reset to a small base every time you turn the game off. The whole point of sidescrolling mario to me is using platforming skills to reach secret areas to collect coins to collect lives to not die and avoid game over screen that boots you back to the beginning of the game.

Canvas Curse is the shit, its a really innovative control system for an action game, not a gimmick
-
KCC is not a gimmick.

lol gimmick
