Title: What's the best USB SNES controller?
Post by: Great Rumbler on October 13, 2010, 08:47:51 PM
From a cursory look on Amazon there's:

Retro Motion's Classic USB SNES Controller (http://www.amazon.com/Classic-USB-Super-Nintendo-Controller-PC/dp/B002JAU20W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1287016776&sr=8-1)

Tomme's SNES Retro USB Controller (http://www.amazon.com/Retro-Nintendo-Controller-Not-Machine-Specific/dp/B0034ZOAO0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1287016776&sr=8-4)

Retrolink's USB Super Nintendo SNES Classic Controller (http://www.amazon.com/Retrolink-Super-Nintendo-Classic-Controller-Pc/dp/B002824SNS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1287017136&sr=8-4)

They all look pretty much the same, but I figure how it feels/controls is what's really important here and I don't really have any way to judge that.

You could also try a usb adapter for a real NES controller. (http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=faf5577d3571e11c9b38310d1e910d13)

Yeah I just use a SNES pad and a USB adapter. Been using this same one (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Smartjoy-PC-Controller-Adapter-Converter/dp/B0009VIZSY) for five years and it's been perfect

The adapter costs more than the controller.  >:(

Yeah I guess it might not be so convenient if you don't have an old controller lying around. I dunno

I've got some SNES controllers around somewhere, but if I'm going to spend about the same amount I'd rather just get the USB controller and not have to worry about keeping up with two separate pieces.

I use a stupid roundabout way of going about it.  I have a Wii to USB adapter, then I use my Super Famicom Wii controller.  I used to until I got the CC Pro and I now use that for most emulated games.  I still break out my USB Saturn pad for fighting games and whatnot.

Wouldn't it be better to spend a little bit more and get the real deal though? I would suspect that a lot of these imitated controllers are pretty junky in comparison.

Also, find and learn how to use DS2Key. Using the DS as a wireless PC gamepad = omgawesome. The software for it is just really rough and it's kind of a pain to get set up.

THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING!

I've got an Xbox360 controller that I use. It's fine for the most part, but I'd like to actually use a SNES controller.
