so should i go to the er? am i going to need a goddamn splint to sleep tonight? just tested for crevitus, also just reaffirmed that you should definitely NOT be doing that that test on yourself

forget drugs, the real warning i hope everyone takes away from all this is that if they suspect crepitus or something equally odd sounding is to STOP (when you find youre symptom on google read the whole thing before getting all excited, unless you like reading the non bolded warning all the way at the bottom of the webpage whilst in the throes of agony) and to ASSUME (that you have the crepittttterfverg thing and just drive your ass to the ER instead of typing a thread on EB)

A guy that works for me put an axe through the backside of his thumb a few weeks back while chopping wood at home, and cut the muscle that pulls the thumb back. It's fine, and was been reattached, but the downtime for recovery is positively killing him. It's amazing how limiting not having use of that thumb is.

was geting dressed for the er when my parents called and told me insurance wouldnt cover it, so now i guess i have to make an appt w/ my family doc for an xray

my ocd got so bad that i was cracking every joint in my hand constantly, to the point where it was almost unbearable in between cracks, my hands were so tired last night i had zero grip strength at work and couldnt even hold a broom to sweep the floor, and now theyre just raw, i woke up feeling like i had two ham hocks as hands, its definitely done damage and at this point i dont see how it couldnt be broken, my fucking thumb from the top joint was jutting out last night which freaked me the fuck out

I broke my left thumb playing ball a couple of years ago; it was terrible. Made me realize why the development of opposable thumbs was considered such a huge leap forward for mankind. It really makes you appreciate how important thumbs are in everyday life - you can hardly do ANYTHING without them. Life was very annoying for those 4-5 weeks. :lol

well, its not broken, just a bad sprain, and maybe some damage at the knuckle, i can play games now, which im gonna try tonight, but definitely not overdo it. the fact that i even sprained my own thumb still freaks me out, never again
