Twitter apps on their cellphones. I use twidroyd on my android phone. I'm not sure what most iphone/itouch and blackberry users use. I know Windows Phone 7 already has an official twitter app ready. Twitter is not the same if you're just using it on your PC.

There are applications like Echofon (http://www.echofon.com/) and Tweetdeck (http://www.tweetdeck.com/) that most people use instead of the website. They have extra features/are quicker (I think, I haven't actually used them myself.) There's also the apps people use to post from their cellphones.

I'm not your typical Twitter user though, I just use it as an alternative to RSS feeds. If I ever post on my Twitter it's mostly because some jackass site has a raffle or giveaway and require you to do so.

I even have a follower, but why the hell anybody would want to follow my dead spam-infested twitter feed is beyond me. He/She probably hit a random button while mashing the keyboard with their face.
