I absolutely adore children.

But I could never eat a whole one.

But seriously folks, I love kids.  Can't wait to have a few of my own.  Just the little details in the middle of that....

Children aren't any more or less obnoxious or useless than adults.  They are just people like you or I.  It's up to the individual.

:lol Boogie

I want kids. :heart Babies seem to be a hassle. Kids are fun (mostly) if you're a good parent. I've only met a few shit kids with amazing parents. Plus who's going to pick out my nursing home if no kiddies?

I won't be making any.

Maybe I'm selfish and want all of my money to myself but I just don't like the low quality education and the ultra PC style of rearing children.

Awesome kids - kids that are well mannered but still have personalities and aren't ultraconservative robot children.

Shitty kids - the kids that run around at GameStop and knock EVERY FUCKING GAME off the shelf, ask 50000 questions and run behind the counter to do so when you have a full line of people in the store, and kick and scream when you don't give them what they want 100% of the time.

Guess which one I deal with more?

from what I understand, kids are mostly worth it for the long term

from baby to whatever age they aren't just crying, eating and pooping, it seems miserable.  Then there is a cool period where you can you get away with playing Mario Kart and watching Disney films, playing catch and all that shit.  Teenage years would be a nightmare.  When they become slightly better in the 20s, they'll hopefully be independent and you don't deal with them until the holidays and whatnot (by this time you've probably aged at four times the normal rate).  You're now depressed and have nothing to do because for a huge chunk of your adult life you were just providing for another person.  Finally when you're really old, the kid finally pays off.  Your best days will be having their kids over and playing Kinect Kart and watching Dreamworks films.  And that's maybe the best case scenario.

Diunx do you plan to look after your parents when they get old?

To me it's too much responsibility. The other thing is my life philospophy (so far) is anything you can walk away from is good thing. You can walk away from marriage but you shouldn't walk away from your children.

Raising a kid gives you something to brag about.  It's hard to gauge the value of that and there's no real point trying since you can't know how hard it is raise a kid unless you already have one in which case you'd never admit your own failures.

Yeah, white people have forfeited the right to laugh at anyone named Shaniqua or anything like it.

Yeah, I've heard the Shitthead one before. My brother in law also swears he went to school with some kids named Lemonjello and Orangejello... I mean, he's from Texas so it's possible, but still....

All three of those names were mentioned in Freakonomics.  According to that book, "Shithead" is pronounced "Shuh-teed"

I've met two people who say that they know somebody who has named their child K-a (pronounced Kadasha). That has to be an urban myth.

Usually it's girl's names where y replaces 'i' for instance Alice becomes Alyce or the name is an almagam of two names for instance Alice and Tanya becomes Alitanya or something.

I don't know diux when you have kids would you still be able to do ittime and money wise? I mean I doubt you're kids would look after you the way you expect them to do since it's culturally ingrained in us and the world is becoming more westernised.

I've heard several people swear on the orangejello/lemonjello names, and it's always that they heard it through someone else they trust but didn't see it themselves. One is a good friend and now all these others have said the same thing, she's convinced it's a sick joke, either fake or not.

Anyone with a kid named Neveah should be shot. It actually may have been a name at one point, I forget the nationality, but it was super rare, but now... smh

I feel like i'm in that scene from Ghostbusters...

actually, it's not that bad, well... um... i guess it is...

My wife is half portuguese, so our kid for some reason has a portuguese name :

Filipe Jorge

... regular logic would dictate i called him "Steve" i guess.

Hell, when i was a kid my dad was involved in an argument over my name with my mother. The upshot is this: my mother wanted me to be called David and he wanted another name. So they flipped a coin and my mother won. i was "chance" away from being called....

Zal.

... and to this day i still can't figure out whether i won or lost on that one.

There's nothing wrong with Felipe. We're talking about weird names.

Depends where they live obviously. In any anglo-redneck, euro hating area that kid is going to have it tough.

Felipe is not a weird name.  Now if it was spelled Phileephay instead, then yeah.
