There's this new show on Discovery Channel called Oddities and it's basically one of DC's answers to the History Channel's Pawn Stars and American Pickers, BUT it has the added bonus of showing off some truly bizarre people. One guy, with a rather creepy laugh, was looking for some nasty [preserved] insect to play a prank on his girlfriend [and ended up buying eleven so he could do it more than once], another guy was looking for monkey skulls, this other guy has a house filled with preserved animals and even admitted to sometimes petting them, this one slightly-off woman was looking for a mortician's table to use for a photo shoot where she was going to show off her line of dresses, and another guy came in to sell his baby skull [it was actually part of a whale ear] that he spent the last few years using as an ashtray.
It's kind of disturbing, but oddly compelling. Like a circus freakshow.
