Title: XBLA today - XMen Arcade and Quake Arena with 33 maps
Post by: AdmiralViscen on December 15, 2010, 09:43:16 AM
That seems pretty bitchin' at face, I didn't even know they were announced.

$8 and $15 respectively.

Why does XMen prompt me to download the full version when I select the Achievements menu option? lol. Isn't the whole purpose of that menu item to let trial owners view cheevs?

I know this. Still the only demo I have ever played that did this.

Quake Arena actually feels better than I thought it would. It feels slowed down compared to the PC version but that's probably the right call with dual analog controls and this type of shooter. Controls pretty well. Annoying that it doesn't let you try the multiplayer out though except with bots.

I picked up XMen with the quickness. Nothing stops a classic.

Does Quake at least run in 720p with 60fps?

I don't buy full price backbone games (if ever).  Might get it when it's on sale for $5 if people say the port is fine.  I don't trust those guys at all.

$15 for Q3 Arena is lolz though.

I wish they were $5 and $10. Quake seems to run well but it's not something I'm gonna buy.

I want X-Men but I'm gonna save my points for the upcoming XBL deals. Only got 1300 to last me until Christmas.

PS. I believe the Japanese version of X-Men is included in this port. Play that instead, it's more balanced.

I'm gonna get X-men eventually too, but I'm not sure when. I'm on an indie high right now thanks to Score Rush and Epic Dungeon.

Not a whole lot on sale though. ME2 DLC, Red Dead DLC, Dance Central DLC, Alan Wake DLC, Limbo, Perfect Dark, and Monday Night Combat.

I'm gonna get Limbo and maybe some ME2 DLC.

btw, check out Protect Me Knight on XBL indie games if you haven't. Game's so awesome.

Is Alan Wake DLC worth it?  I don't have the game yet but will definitely buy it when it's $20.

Yes - this wholly depends on if you like the main game... but yes

Eh, Limbo is the only game there that I don't have and the demo kinda bored me. I've had Protect Me Knight for a while now, it's amazing.

The Signal is free with newer copies of the game, but if for some reason you don't get it, it's definitely worth the points.  It's entirely more clever than the main game.  The Writer, only if you're thirsty for more.  They're only like 500 wheelerpoints each normally, anyway.

I loved me some Quake 3 back in the day, but I can't see myself faring well against other online players anymore. I'll just make some time to get anally raped in the free browser-based version if that need ends up needing scratching.

I disagree.  I wasn't a fan of the main Alan Wake game but though the first DLC was choice.  I hope the second is just as good and I might as well get rid of these dangling points from buying Shadowrun, Splosion man, and the other cheap games I got recently.

Alan Wake DLC is great and better than the main game. The Signal is much better than The Writer. The no death run cheevs were frustrating though. I'm stoked I finally got 1500/1500 on it.

I'll get X-men I think, I was a dirty poor child so only ever played the arcade version a couple of times because it was $1 a pop. A lot of money for me in 1994!

The XBLA game has matchmaking? If so I'll need to get it soon so I can nab those 6 player cheevs.

Does this mean recently released, as in some kind of "platinum hits" version, or just if you buy the game new, it comes with a DLC code?

Fuck XBLA. Thanks to a fucking FAIL on Xbox.com while doing the whole license transfer thing, my fucking games convert to trials as soon as I'm not connected to Live. And despite the fucking thing never actually working, I'm not allowed to do another transfer until next year. Fuck them and fuck their system.

Did you bother with calling support? I had issues transferring licenses to my new 360, but they were able to get them fixed on their end.

I just hate that there's a bunch of achievements that require 6 people.

There's 2 or 3, not that bad. Since the PS3 version supports 6-players offline, it's super easy.

I've been actually having a tough time getting a pink powerup pill thingy in the Japanese version. I played through the whole game and never got one.
