Serious question. Didn't Jennie die of AIDS?
-
no
-
You have a date with a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow or something? Yes, they can get AIDS too. Wrap it up and smash away.

LOL. No. Just a debate with friends at a bar. It was never clear in the movie if Forrest got AIDS from Jennie, who obviously died of it.
-
I think I got AIDS just from watching it
-
I don't think so. They had Forest JR in the 70's right? Then no.
-
I always assumed that forest jr have at least HIV.

I always thought it was obvious she had AIDS. They had sex in 1976 (bicentennial night), and if Forrest was starting school after Jenny died, that would put things around 1981 or 1982 when she passed away.

haters gonna hate
-
Holy fuck, Jenny died?! Apparently Mom turned the movie off halfway through and said THE END!
Wish she did that with Old Yeller... :'(

seriously!
i just think it's not for us non-Americans. I'd rank it as one of the worst movies i've ever had to sit through. It made me hate Tom Hanks (more)
Though i did watch about 70% of Cherrybomb a few nights ago and that really IS the worst film of all time.
<3 <3 <3 ON ALL COUNTS

My mom skipped through all the sex scenes in the film and had me close my eyes. I didn't know about the dorm scene until a couple years later when I watched it on vhs while my parents were out of town
-
My friends and family thought I was a weirdo 'cause I hated this film. :fbm
At least I know now that I had good tastes. :tophat
-
Thinking back on it, I seriously don't remember anything but the taglines and funny parts. There's a few of the war parts I remember, but that's about it. I haven't seen it since it first came out on VHS after being in the theaters. hmmmm I usually have a great memory too. But I have been known to forget basically everything about movies unless I absolutely loved them at the time.

jen nay

Despite what the abstinence brigade will tell you, contracting AIDS from a woman during intercourse is several thousand times less likely than contracting it from a man. Considering that Forrest had sex all of once? twice? with her, its entirely plausible he didn't get infected. The kid is fucked though now that I think about it.
-
Did Forrest Gump have AIDS?
Yes, haven't you seen the sequel Philadelphia?

aids didn't exist when he was born
-
Father and son were both fine in the 2nd sequel when they met up with Meg Ryan in Seattle.

Another high profile Tom Hanks movie I passed on watching. :tophat
-
Didn't she contract some kinda unidentified virus? That suggests AIDS.

Yes, it did. The first diagnosis wasn't until 1981, but a 2007 study suggests that HIV/AIDS made it to the United States in 1969.

The movie never specifically states that she has AIDS or that Forrest Gump was infected by her if she did. In other words, there's no way to answer this question.

Walker saw the movie and came to the same conclusion.

oh wow.

Nah Forrest might have got it later mopping the floor of the strip bar.
Seriously. Read the sequel, Gump and Co. Thank god they didn't make it into a movie. Forrest plays football for the Saints, accidentilly causes the Exxon Valdez spill, and fights in Desert storm with an orangutan named Sue.
-
That sounds amazing.
-
Yea, they killed off his mom and Jenny in Gump & Co. since they didn't die in the original book.
Like how The Lost World was a sequel to the Jurassic Park movie instead of the original book.
