I had to drive about 120 miles [round trip] this morning through rain/sleet/ice/snow. :-\

When it snows 4-5 inches here, it's like the end of the world. :lol

It's like that here in Atlanta too, only it's when it snows 1-3 inches. That snow and ice is headed our way and people were freaking out as of yesterday, rushing to the supermarkets to buy bread and milk, and gassing up their cars. The latter I especially don't get, since nobody is going to be going anywhere. :lol
Severe warnings are already in effect for tomorrow. All schools are already closed and most people won't be going to work, since they are predicting that all the roads are going to ice up.
Unfortunately I will likely be at work tomorrow, since I ride the train, which probably won't be affected by any of this. :'(

We're supposed to get a heavy snow storm later this week, which will probably end up being an inch. People will still freak out, though.

It's really not fun at all driving across 30+ miles of snow-clogged highway, especially when it's not heavily driven enough to carve a decent path.

Didn't you hear about my 8 hour, 30 mile trek on I-5 North through Seattle in late November?

Man, that's pretty horrible. :lol
Took me 2.5 hours to go about 80 miles. Not nearly as a bad, but it is certainly nerve-wracking.

Damn that global warming. Sell your cars it's all over.

Yup. Most of it was slushy and easy to drive on but every once in a while there's a nice little bridge or spot of black ice. Be careful out there. My kids were ecstatic but only stayed outside for 20 minutes or so before storming back outside. I think I'll make a snowman tomorrow.

This is the best use of this pic I've seen in some time

The south is about to get pooped on in the next two days with snow. Every place in Nashville is shutting down and freaking out – all the grocery stores are being fucking overtaken. Fuckin' wimps, Ohio gets like 4 feet of snow on a normal weekend.

They also know how to drive in snow. We have summer tires and lots of RWD 6000 pound trucks.

On the train to work right now. So far it's been a ghost town. We passed a cop car escorting two busses (all of them are out of service) on the short ride to the station. There's s decent number of people on the train but it's usually much, much more crowded than this. The roads are barren.
What sucks is that my job supports firms located all over the U.S. Some are in the south, but I have a feeling it's gonnz be business as usual, albeit with nobody showing up. Fun day.
