So it is that time in one's life where I begin the epic journey into adulthood and buy my first vacuum cleaner. Our vacuum lost all suction and seems to be doomed to a electronics recycling plant somewhere in China or India or some ill fated place. I've been researching these last few days on a ton of brands and haven't been closer to choosing a model than I was in the first place. So I come here knowing a few of our more regular boreans are family folk or complete ocd freaks in search of some answers.
Whats sucking your floors clean bore?

The wife brought home a Roomba knock-off a few weeks back, which is a lot of fun. It's a lot smaller than a Roomba and about a sixth of the price. It tools around, bumping into shit like a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow and does the same spot approx 200 times...but it sure sucks up a lot of trash and dust. We're always shocked when we empty the box.
Definitely thinking of an upgrade to a real Roomba though, I hear they're the bomb.

A roomba is nice my grandmother owns a carpet version as well as a sweeper version and swears by theme. But they do not replace regular vacuuming by a long shot.

nope, for that you need a woman

Dyson, dyson, dyson, dyson dyson. Because it sucks hot fire.
-
But if you don't want to blow $400 on something to suck, I bought a full size dirt devil for $80 at wally world.

Why dyson's do you guys have? I was thinking about the DC28 animal but I see that its got a belt drive. I want to stay away from belts cause i'm dealing with cat hair and long human hair. So I guess I'm going with the DC25 animal.

Yep Dyson. They last forever.
