My brother is planning on buying this today and asked me to check it out

Dunno much about laptops but it seems alright for what he needs: work related/casual gaming (Starcraft 2). Look good to you expert nerds?

it's dead in six months. you do NOT buy any hp right now that is not an elitebook or the 14" envy. jesus!

(and the 14" envy will burn your dick to a smouldering nub if you ever rest it on your lap.)

protip: before you hit the buy button EVER, put the laptop's model number into google and include "+notebookreview.com" and THEN read the busiest three threads at that forum for that make/model. otherwise, you get what's comin' to ya, chumpies!

gave it to my brother.

i have an asus 14" u80jv (aluminum thin and light) with a 9-cell battery available to sell, and while it spanks pd's bro's purchase, it is not exactly a performer for anything other than wow and torchlight. (core i3 ulv + 310m gpu)
