So I tried start playing this again since I heard that DLC is coming, and yes it is still as clunky and average as last time I stopped playing. Why is this game getting continuing support from fans? Especially at GAF were they say that Mercury Stream has vanquished IGA. (yeah ok in graphics, but that's about it) The game does not really feel like Castlevania except for the name in the title. And what's with the constant QTE's? Seriously, Quick Time Events sucks and this game is filled with them. Every damn boss battle has some sort of gimmick of button presses, I hate shit like that. Not only that but what's with the small areas with trial and error segments ala the early Tomb Raider games? YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TO THIS ENEMY OR YOU'RE DEAD. Then, let's talk about the camera. Yeah, what camera, it is fucking horrible. It always seem to be in some shitty overview mode that you cant see shit and it gets even worse when you climb onto things. (And there is too much shitty climbing in this game, it is not fun)
I am playing the 360 version, and while the graphics looks good, it hurts my eyes from the low fps. Is this game ever running above 20 fps? Why do you get nauseas playing this? It was a good idea by Konami to give this franchise a reboot, unfortunately it was to the wrong developer. This is a half-assed God of War.

It has good combat for a western action game and great art. Lots of content too, though a lot of it is average or below average in quality. Game peaks in the middle when you go to the castle. Good ending too.
Otherwise it's an unremarkable 7/10 game.

ok I managed to beat it only because I finished all other castlevanias, but this game made me give up several times before finally being free from this craptastic turd. Omg, what was up with the ending? It is possibly the worst ending I ever seen. I thought I was going up against Dracula in a fight but it seems Kojima went his usual batshit insane and basically wiped out any reason in the story.
So I heard the DLC is even worse, no thanks. I rather keep my $10 and buy some pizza or so.

This game is infinitely better than Dante's Inferno (which is absolute trash). The combat mechanics in this are actually quite good for a western action game - it's at least on par with God of War, if not better. If they can expand upon it in the sequel and fix the framerate, then they'll have a pretty good game on their hands. A lot of the levels are pretty bad too, but I guess that's what happens when you focus on quantity over quality.
The ending is the best thing about the game too. I guess people want the same old Castlevania ending where you run up to the top of a castle and kill Dracula to save the world, for the 800th time. How boring.

Where you at? The first 3 or so chapters are complete shit but it gets more tollerable after that.

I thought it was okay. The first few chapters made me want to quit the game, but it definitely got a lot better towards the middle.
It was an overall mediocre experience, yet I can't help but to look back and feel I enjoyed it.
