I know I'm really really late to the party on this but I just wanted to say I finally got a pair of these and good lord I can never go back.
I live in an apartment so its always been hard to crank the stereo system very loud to hear games but the difference these things make is amazing. I've always heard about how if you play fps games mp you should get a pair because of being able to hear footsteps and such but its way beyond that. Just as an immersive experience its amazing. I'm hearing shit I never heard before. I almost want to go back and play games I've already beat just to hear them for the first time.
And I don't even have a top of the line pair. Mine aren't surround sound although there is some little device I can go buy to make them that.
Just giving a heads-up to anyone who was considering buying a pair or was curious about them that its very worthwhile.

Love headphones.
I don't even have speakers on my computer - just a pair of audio technica ath-a700's.

Yeah headphones rock, even cheap stereo ones. The only problem I have with them is that I can't hear if phone is ringing, etc
But for pure gaming purposes... :bow2
You can really hear much more,I've noticed that long time ago in Oblivion.

I've got a fairly crap pair of Sony (~$50) headphones, but playing at a reasonable volume on them sounds better than my full stereo system at a low volume level. When I use the Sennheisers instead, it sounds better than the stereo at a bitchin' volume.

I really want a pair of the Turtle Beach headsets for the 360. It would help with COD at night when the kids are sleeping. Does anyone know if they have a separate volume setting for incoming voice? I don't need to hear those distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

Yes. They all do except for the low end XLC. Don't get that one.
The baseline one you want is either the X11 or PX21. (I got the PX21) The models above that of course are even better but that is the minimum quality level you should buy from the turtle beaches.

I need to get a good pair for my PC. I'm just using a USB logitech set that I picked up about 18 months ago. Happy with my speakers for the 360 but I prefer to use headphones for my PC.
