:( You dont think those games were worth releasing stateside? No?
Shit/bin, ban, bring back Willco, ban Willco
The only recent or upcoming Nintendo game that I remotely care about is Xenoblade and that's never coming out in the US. So...
I dont know why, but Nintnedo seems to be in the business to make money rathre than take care of their consumers. Sooner or later its gonna hit them in the ass.
Who the fuck buys wiis for rpgs?
Pretty sure at least one of the two is coming over between Xeno and LS. Probly E3 announcement(s). 8)
That's not really saying much.Who the fuck buys wiis for rpgs?
ever since xenoblade is actually better than any rpg on 360 or ps3
Cost to localize huge RPG = Huge
Cost to localize Mario Sports Mix = Not Huge

Is it really that much to just chuck a subtitle track on there and leave the japa va's? Sure it's some work but from what I understand of weeaboos that buy these games most would actually prefer just having subtitles and the og va.
Ninbendo :yuck
I wondered how many nintendo platform games i had - i went up stairs to check and then remembered that the vast majority of my games collection is on the floor :/

If they were on Sony's or MS's machines they would.

Yep, just about every PS3/Xbox360 JRPG has been/is getting localized, except for games that are incredibly niche even in Japan. And even some of those are making it across, courtesty of Atlus and Nippon Ichi.
Xenoblade is a big-budget Wii game, one of the biggest JRPGs the system has, but will Nintendo bring it over? Odds are heavily in favor of "no".

the question is why are they making/publishing these games for the Wii in the first place?
you know that's what always striked me as fun,a bunch of people probably translate a lot and i mean a lot of words by fansubbing all 500+ episode of one piece, but come the translation of a game and it's suddenly an insurmontable barrier
Hardcore games sell like shit no matter what platform they're on. Death Smiles is Cave's most successful game of all time and it's probably only sold 100k worldwide.
People want just want to press buttons and watch an epic oscar worthy story unfold. Or play fitness games.
I skipped this thread for a few days because, y know, distinguished mentally-challenged title that reeked of entitlement issues. Decided to read it and found out I was right.
For the record, Nintendo has been bringing over plenty of jrpgs this gen, although on the ds. Now tell me, could it be their lack of success there has informed them about what the available market is for such games? So, say, as a profit driven corporation, and NOA being subservient to NCL above all else, what initiative would there be for the american branch to market and distribute guaranteed bombs like Xenoblade? I know someone is going to retort with, "wHO cares, its about what IIIIIII WANNNNTTTTTTT". Grow up and gain some fucking perspective of how the world works. Maybe you need a hobby where you make your own fun.
I have to say that the wii has actually giving a lot of my most memorable games this generation, plus all these whiny nintards keep yelling for more matoor games cause those are obviously hardcore and awesome. But yet when they get the games they "want" they don't buy them, cause sadly all they want is bragging rights.
Oh wow, another post by Emceegrammar where he sticks up for Nintendo. Yay, Nintendo's got great business sense, it doesn't matter who they are screwing over as long as Nintendo makes money! That's the worst kind of Nintendo fanboy. Maybe if Nintendo catered to enthusiast gamers a bit more, and tried to make a viable ecosystem for third party/hardcore games, the Wii would be more than a few decent first party games and tons upon tons of Zumba games and waggleshit.
Look at a company like Atlus, they may not be making money hand over fist, but at least they are turning a profit, releasing niche and enthusiast games. They nurtured a fanbase successfully without screwing them over.
Grow up and gain some fucking perspective of how the world works.
Dude there is probably more words in a single wii rpg like i mentioned than those 500+ one peice episodes.
Grow up and gain some fucking perspective of how the world works.
I did. That's why I no longer purchase Nintendo products.
XENOBLADE CHRONICLES TO REACH EUROPE
Nintendo of Europe can confirm that it will be bringing the epic RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles to Europe for Wii. The title, already launched in Japan, brings to life a universe where two worlds called Bionis and Mechonis fight a war that knows no end.
Join the battle for Bionis to repel the invasion of a terrifying mechanical army and uncover the secrets of a mystical sword called the Monado.
Xenoblade Chronicles will be launching later this year for Wii featuring both English and Japanese voice-overs and will be fully subtitled in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Keep checking www.nintendo.dk for further information on this epic new adventure for Wii.
Awesome. I hope this is as good as it's been hyped up to be. But then again, I think I've seen people compare it to FFXII, so I'll keep my expectations in check.

FFXII is boring
No way is nintendo going to spend this much money on english voice overs and not bring this to their biggest (second biggest?) market, the good ol' USA.
awesome! Damian79 is Australian so he can play the euro version of Xenoblade. (as can I)
Probably one of the few and far between independent decisions by NoE to localize, like for Doshin the Giant. :usacry
I bought 2 wiis for this game
Since you own it you can easily try it on your comp and on the wii and make a decision right?
The best Japanese RPG of this generation.
The best Japanese role-player of the current generation and a big step forwards for the genre in terms of accessibility and ambition.
It's a game that invites us to reassess an entire genre, pointing to a bold future while nodding its respect towards the past. It's a towering triumph.
Tiesto - just update to the latest FW and run Letterbomb

pppfffttt :lol this game is going to be horrible! :rofl
if this was a next gen rpg instead of THE LAST GAME ON THE WII <salute> you can rest assured that i would read that the main character is annoying, the plot is stupid and the combat system repetitive, like i end up doing everytime
Yeah, it's too bad that it didn't have the S-E logo on it, then the praise might have actually been believable!

i have read so many review bashing rpg that were good for the most moronic reasons (i remember a review disliking monster hunter for not having lock on!) that i know for sure these moron know nothing about them and that when they are telling me that a game is "genre defining" what they actualy mean is "i'm a westaboo and i'm going to slob over anything that has big open field and real-time combat" make the title one of the last wii exclusive and the 9/10 is secured
you know what was the last rpg that had nothing but positive vibes from the presses? it was persona 3 which is as far as "best rpg ever" as you could ever get,if the press has nothing bad to say about it,there's probably something stinking in it
just say "weeaboo controversy" and I'll understand
It's always possible to innovate within a comfortable and well-established template. Nintendo is traditionally the master of this art
Don't worry, magus, I'm sure FFXIII-2 and FFXIII Versus will get even better reviews!spoiler (click to show/hide)(http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k33/GreatRumbler/two_women_laughing_1766782.jpg)[close]
After the corridors of FF XIII, the openness of this world is a revelation
but none of the pompousness and melodrama of less accomplished Japanese epics. I'd forgotten that JRPGs could be anything other than depressingly linear and a heavily over-written;
that there's still room for innovation in this struggling genre.
Try being a Musou fan in the US if you think liking jrpgs is hard. :teehee

seriously is there any appropriate response other than anger when the reviews you are reading start like that? :-X
I don't get this "genre reviving" bit... did all the press just suddenly forget about the shitloads of RPGs to come on handhelds recently?
Never mind, we all know the answer to that already.
Reviews for RPGs are usually shit but I'll trust positive import impressions from Bebpo and TheTrin among others... can't wait to get my copy, only problem is finding time to play since I have to move.
MAGUS, HELP ME PIRATE THIS GAME
