I don't really listen to much Metal from like the mid 90's onwards so this thread could help me out and others who would like to find the best new metal bands and stuff. Lately I've been going through some of my favorite NWOBHM bands that I haven't listened to since I was 12 with a shit load of cassettes, here's what I'm talking about.

Awesome riffs!

My problem with all this new metal is I love the music but the vocals usually turn me off, cause I'm a fan of the traditional metal vocal style of being powerful and screeching and waling occasionally. But when its all deathgrowl or screaming it usually turns me off with a few exceptions.

you know, technical (death) metal. Metal with complex rhythm and time signatures, often having over 9000 notes per second riffs and guitar solos. Also features at least 4 bass drum pedals.

14 of the videos I posted so far are have clean vocals, crazy riffs, and tons of guitar solos. try paying attention noob.
Iced Earth, Black Label Society, Tyr, Blind Guardian, Iron Savior, Dream Theater, Kamelot, Down, Falconer, Pagan's Mind, Jag Panzer, Symphony X, Circus Maximus, Impellitteri

in other news: The new Turisas album is fantastic. it has a better orchestral side than the first album and is super catchy. not as good as their second album but far far better than Battle Metal.
