cool story, bro

cool story, bro
but what's different
Looks like a Wii game too.
:rofl
Played a bit last night. Went through a few Wei story stagez. You guys should have got this at best buy, they had it ready to buy monday morning!
Frame rate is really spastic. :gloomy It jumps from 30 to 60 back and forth and it's really annoying. DW6 looked like crap but at least it had that consistent musou 60fps. This is PS3 version btw.
Combat feels a lot more like DW5 then 6. It's not just the return to old style charge attacks. Hitting guys and shit, it just overall feels more like the PS2 titles.
Dub is pretty bad. It's not recent musou dubbing bad (which I love, I love the corny overacting and voice stereotypes) more like flat DW3 dub bad.
Cutscenes look great! The more cinematic feel of story mode is neat, but I think they streamlined too much. You don't get the pre-battle map screen anymore, and there's no map during the pause menu. Also, characters feel even more clone-y then DW6 since it's weapons that determine the moveset (aside from musou attacks and character-unique EX attacks) even though there is supposedly 36 or so weapon movesets.
Going to play more tonight, that's just from a couple hours play.
So would this be a good buy for someone who's never played a DW aside Gundam (:heartbeat), Fist of the North Star (:heartbeat) and I think 4 (which I thought was awful, 4 vanilla for xbox btw)?
You all know the story by now. A new Dynasty Warriors game is released, it sells gangbusters in Japan, but gets trashed by Western reviewers who question why these games still get made, and who on Earth would play them.
Except on Destructoid, of course, where we actually review the games.

mox: how's the lag in our game? sorry i'm slow. this is my first real DW! I'm learning!
this is fun as fuck. haven't played a good co-op game in a while.
Oh shit, Koei confirmed DLC JP voices on the official site: http://www.tecmokoeiamerica.com/dw7/
They say it's gonna be free DLC, who knows if they'll stick to that.
that mission is a terribitch. i eventually got through it entirely on luck. sw3 let you use items to heal adjacent generals; it'd be nice if this game let you do the same
Need an Empire version.Give it a few months.
First predictable bad DW7 review i've seen so far: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/115/1158577c.html
March 30, 2011 - How many times can you possibly hit the square button in a single game? Dynasty Warriors 7 dares you to find out.
March 31, 2012 - How many times can you possibly click the mouse button in a single game? Diablo III dares you to find out.
In these reviews how come they never mention the awesome historical aspect which I really find appealing? Or the tactical aspect? You're not just mashing. You're also thinking, looking at the map, and covering a tactical warzone.
Isn't Cao Cao an evil despot?
What's so great about sw3? Is it on ps3? Dunno if I should check out Sengoku Basara, wait till DW: Gundam 3, or check out Samurai Warriors 3 after this game for my DW fix.\\
SW3 is just a great musou game. Lots o characters with cool movesets, great stage design, lots to do etc. But the wii version is locked at 30 with wii bluriness :'(
Samurai Warriors 3 Z (PlayStation 3) and Samurai Warriors 3 Xtreme Legends (Nintendo Wii) will not be coming out in North America or Europe any time soon. The overseas release has been canceled indefinitely for both versions, despite strong first week sales for the PS3 version when it came out early February in Japan. Samurai Warriors 3 was originally released for the Nintendo Wii last year, but it barely managed to sell any copies overseas.
People who are still interested in playing the high definition PS3 version of SW3 can import the game. In order to play the imported Xtreme Legends version, you need a Japanese Nintendo Wii since the game is region locked. Samurai Warriors 3 may very well be the last SW game to come out of Japan. The future of KOEI’s games is definitely not looking too good for fans overseas considering the previous game cancellations (Warriors Orochi Z and Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 were never released outside of Japan).
Also, from Koei Warriors- NO 3Z (PS3) or 3XL (Wii) for North America and Europe. Import away!QuoteSamurai Warriors 3 Z (PlayStation 3) and Samurai Warriors 3 Xtreme Legends (Nintendo Wii) will not be coming out in North America or Europe any time soon. I think that last part is kinda funny considering that Samurai Warriors Chronicles and Dynasty Warriors 7 just came out. :lol
I don't see why 3Z won't come.
I mean the reason SW3 didn't do well here is easy: it was on the fucking wii.
I played Ken's Rage demo and was going to buy it upon price drop, actually. Shame about 3Z being import only.
Lyte, someone linked me that yesterday under APRIL FOOLS jokes; so that quote is probably not legit. Though I'd guess they weren't coming simply because it's been a while and they haven't been announced while other musou games have.
ign gave a 5 to this,i know nothing about this game and ign sucks anyway so consider you guys trolledWe all know that the vast majority of reviews of musou games are basically this...
Wow, that looks great. Visually the cool flashy moves and animation are up there with GM3.
magus, why don't you just play it and see for yourself :P It's not like it'll cost you anything :pirate
so am i getting the ps3 version or the 360 version?
i think it's coming:so am i getting the ps3 version or the 360 version?
You still just have a J360 right? Get it on PS3...there is no Japanese 360 version.

Are the Japanese voices on the PS3 Blu Ray disc? Both voices were on the disc for SW3 on the Wii of all things...
Samurai Warriors on 3DS has Japanese voice support. Crazy Koei can't get them on the disc for the console versions.
His grapples have me cheering like a manbaby.
Everything makes you feel like that you dicktucking taco
Will there be any Meng Huo levels? I always found those stages with him fun. I saw Zhu Rong as a character in Conquest mode so I'm assuming he will be somewhere in the game.Yeah, Meng is in Conquest mode too. Every officer has 2-3 'legendary' battles in that mode which unlock them for play if they aren't available yet.
Sima Zhao just body surfed on an enemy peon.
game of the year confirmation.
holy shit

school uniform dlc
Is Fist of the North Star musou worth it?
The demo was really really shitty for a musou game, but I heard the full game is better. It's $30 at Amazon now and musou games almost never price drop/collapse, so I'm wondering if I should grab it at this price.
people who have this on 360 REPORT ON THE DLC
i already sold the ps3 version. i'm getting dw7 for 360, we can play together.
wtf, I thought they were putting the japanese voices and stuff in one big pack, but on xbl it's multiple packs you pay for and the japanese voices. I thought the japanese voice pack included the free stages and stuff
Bought DW7 for 360.Pretty sure you can only play dress up in conquest mode, yeah(and the DLC stages are for conquest so they're obviously only seen there). Dunno about taking the weapons into story mode since I haven't tried that since getting them but I'd imagine you can use 'em.
Are dlc costumes and stages only viewable in conquest? I bought everything.
Guo Jia's back, and he's mother fucking fabulous
(http://i.imgur.com/7Mbet.jpg)
Guo Jia is the new character being added for Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends. He literally uses a giant pool cue and floating energy balls which he can shoot with the cue. It's called "Pole Shot"
What else can be found in DW7: Xtreme Legends?(http://i.imgur.com/h5U2X.jpg)
- Legend Mode: where (as far as Google Translate goes) is some kind of story mode
- Challenge Mode: K.O count challenge, combo count challenge, some other unexplained rules/things and online leaderboards
- New Weapons: Guo Jia's Pole Shot and the Giant Sword
- Play the original DW7 mode that everyone wanted Co-Op in but it didn't come with it in DW7.
