Title: Recommend me Kindle books
Post by: Ganhyun on April 01, 2011, 10:57:18 PM
Recommend me books to put on my Kindle EB.

I primarily read mystery, action, westerns, and of course sci-fi/fantasy.

Also, seeing as a friend of mine has a huge collection of pdf books, do those "work" on a Kindle?

get calibre - free conversion software. You can read .pdfs on a Kindle but it's pretty painful - lots of scrolling around and shit.

If'n you like mystery, action and westerns - look no further than Lee Child's Jack Reacher books.

I just bought Romance of the The Kingdoms from the iphone kindle store. :) Great book. If you haven't read it, although it's an abridged version, it still qualifies as the most awesomely entertaining book I've ever read, Monkey: A Folk Novel of China. I also recently finished David Simon's The Corner and Homicide, two big proponents towards the creation of The Wire and huge influences.

Kindle has a lot of free books too. :) War and Peace, The Art of War...

Cthulhurotica (http://www.amazon.com/Cthulhurotica-ebook/dp/B004GKMID2)

It's what TVC would do.

Oh yeah, don't underestimate the classics. There's a lot on there that holds up as an entertaining read even today. I just wish a decent web designer would take pity on them, because it's a potentially fantastic resource hampered by a very poor implementation.
