I found it an enjoyable corridor shooter.  The end was really frustrating though.  It turned into a bit of a puzzle game,  Really fucking pretty game.  I'm on board for this one.

atmosphere wise, it's pretty great.
gameplay wise, it's pretty sub par.

I only played it on ranger mode, the new difficulty setting added through dlc.  According to others it made bullets more powerful, meaning you and the enemies could die in a shot or two, and reduced the amount of ammo to find.  Like fistful said, it's entertaining for the atmosphere but there's some loose skin feeling combat.  Stealth felt broken but that might not be a problem in the normal mode if you can just shoot it out.

It looks good. Hopefully they don't add multiplayer for the sake of it. It doesn't look like they really added anything to the gameplay though.

How was the first one?

Half-Life and psychological horror. Pretty decent gunplay/AI and visuals too.

Wasn't this a THQ thing?

Who picked up Metro? (wikichecking) ...So Deep Silver picked this up along with Saints Row? That's pretty awesome.

Last third of that survival guide looks awesome. I wish somebody made a game with an atmosphere like that that isn't just an fps shooter in the end.

Probably doesn't effect most of you but game has real bad shadow glitching on amd cards and some performance issues.

You have to force the game to run in dx 9.

I played the first hour or so.

Shooting feels better. Graphics are nice. I enjoy the atmosphere.

However I thing I have pinpointed what I dislike about this and the previous. Metro feels like it comes from the same family as STALKER. It's a super Euro shooter with great design and atmosphere. STALKER, however, has so much going on and a great world to explore. Metro is just a linear shooter. It feels like nothing is happening. I'm just being funneled down a corridor the entire time. Now thats not necessarily a bad thing but ... I dunno. Feels hollow.

They released a patch that fixes the performance and shadow flickering issues on ati cards and also adds an fov setting to the user config file. So good on them.

Didn't play Metro 2033 and I'm very early hear but I'm enjoying this. I liked the atmosphere and theme of these shooters like in Stalker but I didn't actually find stalker much fun to play. This seems more my speed so far.

Played this for a bit. Looks incredible, plays like a solid stealth/survival shooter. Nothing to hate on really.

STALKER is a fun sandbox shooter too.. different gameplay styles imo.

How's performance compared to the 1st game?

i mean, if you couldnt run the first game you arent going to be able to run this game.

I just finished a section where you went down a track with a car and could stop at side rooms to pick up ammo and stuff. I really liked that section. it had amazing atmosphere and felt like i was exploring around in the tunnels.
