Title: EA announcing some "big" stuff this Thursday
Post by: Himu on July 04, 2011, 05:38:51 PM
Quote
Senior events and media manager for the publisher, Wendy Spander, said during the US holiday weekend that the company was “preparing for the big EA Summer Showcase on Thursday. Big announcements ahead!”

Last year’s showcase seen announcements of Fight Night: Champion, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Alice: Madness Returns and more.

We’re going to bet you’re going to hear the formal announce of the original Crysis for PS3 and 360 at the event. And more of Battlefield 3. Because you can never have enough Battlefield 3 in your life.

Ultima X

It's gonna be by Bioware and turned into a linear, on rails, hack and slash with a shitty combat system.

Someone found some unseen footage of Need for Speed: The Run and uploaded it onto YouTube. Take a peek.

I really hope the "big" stuff isn't The Secret World and Scrabble. Funcom can't launch games that aren't fucking ruined for months on end before they become kinda decent.

Edit: And why would anyone do this? http://i.imgur.com/vgLhX.png Two collars?

Two popped collars.  It's worse somehow.

So I'm guessing nothing happened.
According to GAF:

Quote from: Nirolak
-"Hey, two of our best sports games this fiscal year are FIFA 12 and SSX.  We won't be showing them today."
-"Check out this trailer for NCAA 12 and this screenshot of NBA Jam.  Here's some NHL stuff."
-"ARRRRGH!  Sims Medieval: Pirates And Nobles.  ARRRRGH!"
-"Let me tell you how awesome Origin is."
-"Check out the amazing details of Need For Speed: Shift 2 iPad."
-"CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?  DO YOU GET WHAT'S GOING ON!?! It's FIFA, on iPad and two iPhones at the same time!"
-"It's Risk Factions for Facebook, now with more StarCraft 2!"
-"OMFG CHECK IT OUT GUYS.  IT'S SCRABBLE ON FOUR PLATFORMS AT ONCE! *FAINTS*"
-"Here's a CG trailer from yesterday for The Secret World."
-"And now to end our show, Dragon Age 2 DLC!  Btw, if you're actually here, you can play Battlefield 3 in the gym!"

Wait just a moment! EA announced BIG news (return of the "BIG" brand?!), and just launched a service called "Origin" -- and their announcement is coming from guys with '80s popped collars -- HOLY COW! I can see where this is going!! They're about to announce the return of Trip Hawkins to the EA fold, and relaunches of the Bards Tale and M.U.L.E brands!

The popped collar guy is probably more indicative of them about to announce their brand new title: The Sims - Jersey Shore edition...

I'm surprised someone out there is still genuinely doing the multilayer collar poppin' thing.  I figured hipsters had already ironically re-appropriated it in full, e.g.:
