Yesterday I caught a promo for a television show called La Job on one of the French Canadian channels. Immediately this show looked very familiar, and for good reason; I already watched two versions of it. Quebec, yes Quebec, has their own version of the Office.

I wonder which one is Dawn... I mean Pam and which one is Tim.. I means Jim...
This show is different though because they don't work for a paper company, they work for a carton company. Way to be creative guys. The name of the regional manager is David Gervais. ::) The French also have a version called Le Bureau while the Germans have a show called Stromberg. Give me a break Ricky.

Ricky doesn't do the other shows you know right(except some stuff on the US one)? He just let other people do their own thing. Many countries have their own verison of the office.
It isn't the first show to do this.
-
Obviously he is not going to waste his time with this show, but he did create the French Canadian version and so he is ultimately responsible for it being on the air. What are the chances of this being any good?
-
Still I love Ricky. The Office (UK) and Extras are two of the greatest sitcoms of all time. I REALLY want to see him and Stephen Merchant do a film now that Extras is finishing with season 2. And small roles in things like For Your Consideration, Stardust, and Night At The Musem don't count. :(

everything that airs on all french television networks in Quebec is a total waste of money and broadcast time at any given moment
since it's cheaper to avoid producing original content, all the minor cable networks majorly broadcast American content dubbed in France in which they feature intermissions done by local Quebec stars as hosts and narrators in order to masquerade it as Canadian content (and get governmental subventions)
I'm proud of not knowing what's going on in that scene, and never plan to do it again... fuck that provincial communist star system and all its nobodies too

none, french canadian shows are marginalized unfunny bullshit that the provincial medias hype to the population as being good
urrgh, just ad-blocked that fucking picture, I hate these all of these fucking Quebecois comedian losers and never want to see their stupid smarmy faces again

Garnet posts here too. Are you saying UK Comedy and Gervais are better than Garnet?
-
UK Comedy is better than most things
-
Yeah but Gervais's influences are mainly American though.. so paradox, mind blown etc

He considers a rather good british show Fawlty Towers as a major influence for some reason but I am unsure how.
