Been at work for an hour and a half now.  On break #1, so things are moving at a brisk pace.  Not too bad, really...can't complain.

I think I felt like that two minutes /before/ I got to work, and then I as so busy I didn't even check the clock again until 16:30. But the last couple hours were filled with a frothy, seething hatred.

Just got back from lunch. Day is half over already. I finally started playing Tiny Tower so not much else will happen barring any major emergency.(ie. someone can't print or someone needs access to some files or someone clicks the outlook icon 10 times and wonders why it isn't opening.)

Things are crazy hectic, like always, so no one has any time to train me/oversee my work, like always, so I'm winging it and learning as I go, like always

I was told today that when I come in a few minutes early, I can freely leave early. They don't really care what I do as long as I log in full time hours. I'm so used to working until 9 or 10pm every night and working every weekend. "Oh, I can go home at 4:30? Well don't mind if I do!"

Also, they don't want me taking less than an hour for lunch unless necessary.  8)  I didn't even get a break at my last job, despite working ridiculous amounts of hours every day. Is this what a normal job is supposed to be like? Why didn't I get myself fired sooner? Best. Career Move. Ever.

It's what normal good jobs are like.

Work? Oh yeah, that thing I have to go back to on August 31st...

Got up at 8am and went for a 4 mile run. Watered the garden, made some coffee and breakfast and sat on on the back steps while reading a book.

It's in the accounting realm, but not doing taxes and yelling at employees all day, every day, weekends included. I've seriously never had a job where we could formally take a "break" or manage our own time, so it's pretty wonderful, I must say.

However, my last job was nice enough to give me 2 1/2 months paid and 2 months off. Unemployment :bow2

Getting fired/laid off, or quitting, has ALWAYS been a good career move in my experience so far. Seriously, it's happened three times and every time the next job was at a 50%+ salary bump.

Get a Master's degree in School Psychology, there are always districts in need of them.

As a self diagnosed hypchondriac I doubt psychology would be a good study for me.

US seems like a cool place, but the lack of holiday days in most jobs makes me not want to move there, unless it's for like 1 year to check it out. Obviously if you work in the school system it's different.

Yeah, that's been my experience as well. Every layoff has resulted in a substantial career bump.
