Title: WINDOWS 7 HELP ME
Post by: Bebpo on July 22, 2011, 08:39:08 PM
Is it just me or is the dos prompt kind of iffy in W7?  When I run any .exe/.bat it pops them open in a second window and runs the stuff in an instant and closes the window before you can see anything it said.  There's got to be an option to tell it to run the program within the current window and not open a new one.  Or at least an option to not have it CLOSE when it's finished running in the 2nd window.

Any tips?

if the dos prompt is closing instantly it prolly means it needs some parameters, you know like /whatever

hold shift on the folder containing the .bat or whatever and right click > "open a command window here" at that to save time getting to it

Run the prompt as an admin? I forget how to do that though...

How are you running it? Just typing cmd from start box/Run prompt? cuz, yeah, for me it just works like always.

(obligatory pedantry: it is not actually DOS)
