I'm a new convert. I didn't know I was a raretard after Viva Piņata, which was superb and scarily addictive. Once I got used to Nuts and Bolts (realizing it isn't a platformer), I loved it.  And I'm apparently the only guy who thinks the 360 avatars are really clever.

I'ma go play Kameo soon.

The quality of that is pretty impressive for the N64, which usually had such awful sound quality in its games.

Do I have to explain how its not original or clever?  I doubt rare wants to do what they are doing these days, but its easy to see Microsoft sees them as an aspartame Nintendo.

yeah, you had to get drunk and urinate all over the other nightclub patrons to progress the game. Seriously.

I'm your huckleberry. Don't tease. Go ahead and explain to me how the avatars are both not original and not clever.

actualy you don't urinate on the patrons, you urinate on a bunch of flaming demons to extinguish them, usualy i dislike this kind of humor but conker pulls it off in an awesome manner

best part of the game still remains this

EDIT: oh yeah now i remember, the piss part happens twice and the second part happens on the nightclub, you use the piss to move a bunch of rock guys

Let's just say it obviously wasn't Rare's initiative to create Avatars...or Kinect Sports.

Admit it, if Rare was still with Nintendo you'd praise their stuff to high heaven. If Viva Pinata was a Wii game you filthy n-tard fucks would slaver over it

viva piņata is awesome  ???

Rare has been pretty on their game this generation, just not at all matching their production for the N64.  banjo nuts and bolts is a cool-ass game, but I'd rather play the platformer versions.

I asked about the unsupportable statements you made in the BOLD parts but you responded to the ITALIC parts.

I generally don't humor folks who are obviously playing coy.

EmCeeDuder, I am being 100% not-coy, but perhaps a little antagonistic. From my perspective, you made an incorrect, unsupportable statement, about which I questioned you. You then failed to support the statement you'd made, which I pointed out. Now you're saying I'm being disingenuous.

Whatevs, brah. I'll keep thinking the avatars are smartly planned, interesting additions to the game-o-sphere.

Gee, I thought you were in game development, and somehow you never heard of a fucking mii.  No offense, (really) but I may have assumed the best of you and I was wrong.

And here I thought sarcasm in text was hard to detect.

I've heard of a Mii. Nihil sub sole novum. I also think that originality can be manifested even when pursuing an existing technology. Or is Duke Nukem 3D just a ripoff of Doom? Was Gran Turismo a ripoff of Ridge Racer with licensed cars? Is Rock Band just ripping off Guitar Freaks?

I agree that the 360 Avatar concept was almost certainly originally driven by the Mii. MS has denied it and Rare has outright stated they had the idea earlier (http://kotaku.com/5048586/rare-+-avatar-idea-predates-miis), though. Either way, I'm pretty certain that the Avatar counts as more of a "2.0" evolution of the idea, rather than a "1.1"
